I sat on my bed in my room. Catching up on homework that had been sent home since I was gone. Do they really expect me to do this after all that's happened?! I still haven't told mom that I wasn't alone trying to save Colby, because if I did, she would go ape crap. So it's probably not the best idea...... finally! I was done with the butt load of homework I got. I flopped backwards onto the bed, and fell asleep a few minutes later.

I walked through the double doors of the school, and saw Josh standing at my locker. What does he want now?
"Kate! where on Earth have you been?!" I was taken by shock with his stern tone. "I um...I...." I hesitated. I can't tell him the truth! Oh! I was just saving my little brother from kidnappers with a wanted killer! He would think I was nuts!
"Vacation..." I say slowly. He nods and looks me dead in the eye. "You scared the crap out of me! I thought you were dead! Since there's a madman running around slaughtering people, it doesn't help!" He says.
"Look, I'm fine! Don't worry about me!" I say as I slam my locker shut and walk away.

The bell rang for school to end. I sighed with relief. This place is like a prison! I went outside and turned the corner to go the buses. But I almost knocked into someone. "AH! Oh my gosh! You scared me!" I say over the thundering of my heart. It was Jeff, and he smirked at the way I reacted. "Be careful, there's a madman on the lose, and he just killed the family down the street!" He said with a laugh. I rolled my eyes at him, knowing he just killed them. You could tell by the fresh blood on his hoodie.
"Jeff, you also need to be careful! People are staring!" I said pointing to the kids staring at us. He pulled the hood farther on his head. "Don't want the cops coming here, bye."He said. And with that he was gone in a flash. I smirked. "Jeff, you're so stupid." I said under my breath.

At school the next day, I got several strange looks. All eyes seemed to be trained on me. "Who's your little friend?" Emily asked me. "What little friend?" I say looking around. She holds up her iPhone and I see a picture of Jeff and I behind the school. What? Why should she do this?! "I haven't seen him at school before." Emily says with a smirk.
I have had it with Emily! "WHY DO YOU LIKE TO BUTT INTO OTHER PEOPLE'S LIVES YOU LITTLE PRISS!!!" Her jaw dropped open at the remark. "Excuse me?" She said. "Do you have any idea who you're talking to?!" She said talking a step toward me. Everyone's eyes were on us now. "Yes, I do." I said stepping toward her. "A Person with an IQ of a peanut." She swung her fist at me, but I was too fast. I punched her in the gut, and she screamed. I pinned her to the floor and sat on top of her.
"Now you know what it feels like to be me... A helpless little freak!" I punched her in the face and she blacked out. I stood up and saw what I had done. I had just beat up someone. Now I was the bad guy here.
---
I was sitting at the police station, waiting for my mom to came pick me up. I was thinking about what I had done, and now I know Emily deserved it. My mom burst through the door, escorted by a police officer. She screamed at me nonstop and was crying. She was disappointed in me, ending up this way.
The whole ride home was silent. You could hear a pin drop. My mom was probably blaming herself for this, but it's not her fault, and she should know that. She started talking as we pulled into the neighborhood. "Emily is in jail." She said to me. I gasped and asked her, "why?" "For bullying." She replied. Hearing these words made me sigh with relief. Now I wouldn't have to deal with her anymore.
