It was finally Friday, I was ready to jump off a cliff and die. A short brown haired girl handed me a letter, and I opened it. "You're invited to my party this weekend." She said with a smile. Why is she inviting me? I've never seen her in my life. I said thank you, and she left.

She seemed a little.... Off.

I dismissed the feeling, and put the paper in my pocket.

Victims POV

Come on, you have to keep running. I told myself as I stumbled over fallen tree limbs. I heard a voice in the distance say, "you shouldn't run from me!" Followed by maniacal laughter. I hide behind a rock, trying to stay as silent as possible. I hear footsteps, and I know he's here. "Come out, come out wherever you are!" He said with a laugh.

I have to make a run for it, I can't stay here. I get up to run, but I'm yanked back by my hair. "Go.....to....SLEEP." He whispered. Those three words are the last thing I hear before I'm plunged into darkness.

Kate's POV

The party was tonight, and I still needed to get ready. I slipped on my shoes and put on my jacket. I didn't want to go to a high school party dressed all fancy, that would be lame.

When I got there, the house was packed. I didn't make any small talk with anyone, I just sat down on the couch quietly. Then out of the corner of my eye, I saw someone through the window. It was Jeff. He was motioning for me to come outside, and I obeyed. "What's up?" I ask him. "What's up, is Josh." He said pointing to someone in the room.

I turned my head to see someone standing in a dark corner. What was he doing here? "So?" I ask him. "I have a feeling he's going to hurt you." Jeff said to me. That's when I remembered the day when Josh and I got in a fight. Maybe he was going too hurt me. The burning hatred in his eyes that night terrified me, and for some reason, I knew that he had changed forever.

I turned my head back to where Josh was standing, but he was no longer there. "Hey, Jeff, he's-" I was thrown against the wall, by someone. I slowly pushed my head off of the ground, and saw Josh's face glaring down at me.

"Hi Kate." He said evilly. "Stay away from her!" Jeff yelled as he lunged at Josh. Jeff knocked him out, and helped me up. "Come on we have to get out of here." Jeff said.

As soon as I got up, I saw Josh move. He pulled out a gun, and pointed it at us. "It ends here." He said with a touch of insanity in his voice. "You're right." Jeff said pulling out his knife. "It does end here." Josh pointed the gun at Jeff, and I told Jeff to stay back. But he didn't listen, he lunged at Josh. Jeff pinned Josh against the house, and raised his knife. "Jeff, please!" Josh pleaded.

"Why should I let you go?" Jeff said angrily. "You deserve to die." "Please! Just let me go! Don't hurt me!" Josh screamed. Jeff's eyes softened, and he lowered the knife. "Don't. Ever. Touch. Her. Again." Jeff said releasing him. "Come on, lets go Kate." He said leading me away. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw josh pull out his gun again. "Jeff! Look out!" I screamed.

But I was too slow to react, Josh pulled the trigger. Jeff fell to the ground, nearly dead.
