You were smart, that's what Iwaizumi Hajime thought if you. So when you all of the sudden began speaking to him, he thought you liked Oikawa.

He knew that you'd be one of the people who gathered enough information of their crush (not in a creepy way, you pervs), then took steps to ask them out. The step you were on had to be the one where you befriended your crush's best friend. Then, start subtly asking questions about your crush. After that, BAM, a broken heart, and rejection for you or not.

Iwaizumi didn't want to get his heart broken by you. Someone who was smart, kind, beautiful. However, he didn't cut ties, he treasured every moment with you.

He sometimes cursed Oikawa for his charismatic looks, his charming attitude, and a sweetness towards his fangirls.

I wonder when she'll make her move on Oikawa. the ace pondered

"-zumi-san?"

"Iwa-chan?" you said, snapping Iwaizumi out of his thoughts.

"Don't call me that. It reminds me of that garbage can, Oikawa," Iwaizumi said.

"Aw, why do you have to be so rude to Oikawa-san?"

There it was. You came to Oikawa's defense when Iwaizumi insulted him, and you always seemed to have a jealous view towards the other girls that got to be only centimeters away from Oikawa.

It was obvious you liked the Grand King, in Iwaizumi's prospective.

"Anyway, that's not what I was going to say. Erg, what was it?" You shook your head in frustration, trying to jog your memory. "Ah, now I know!" You snapped your fingers. "Do you want to have lunch with me tomorrow?"

What? This wasn't how the story was supposed to go, or was it?

"Uh, sure," Iwaizumi answered.

You smiled as Iwaizumi sat down with his lunch.

"How was class today, Iwaizumi-san?" you asked politely.

"It was good. There were some girls that kept bugging me about Oikawa," Iwaizumi said.

"Aw. I find it so sad that girls only bother you, just to get close with Oikawa," you stated. You opened up your bento, and began to dig in.

Iwaizumi just stared at you. Is that really what you just said?

"You're really sweet, Iwaizumi-san. I guess I should tell you. You seem shocked to hear that I said that." You stared into your bento, trying to conceal the small blush that was covering your cheeks.

"I like you. I didn't start talking to you because I wanted to get close Oikawa. I started talking to you because I had interest in you."
