Crushes. I didn't understand crushes sometimes. Big crushes, to be specific. Like, how could you like someone that you didn't even know much? Someone who didn't even know you existed.

That's exactly how I felt as I stared ahead at the beautiful and undeniably gorgeous, Kevin Brown.

I watched as he threw his football at some other guy, and as his muscular legs ran around the field.

6'5 at least. Light chocolate colored skin. Lean and muscular body. A chiseled jaw and endless dark eyes. He was stunning.

I watched him each day I was in school. It wasn't stalking, I just observed him. Since Middle school. I observed each of his girlfriends, and how they looked different than me. I observed how he played in each of his football games. I observed the way he would joke around with his friends. I observed everything.

He never gave me a glance.

I didn't blame him though. I was nothing, especially compared to the beautiful girls he dated. They were all curvaceous with long beautiful silky hair and wore clothes that showed how much confidence they really had.

I was nothing compared to them. I was the type to wear only sweats and long jeans. I didn't even own a pair of shorts. My hair only reached to the bottom of my chin and it wasn't silky, but thick. And I literally had no confidence in myself.

Besides, it wasn't like I would ever be able to date him. My parents were too strict to let me have any boyfriends. They were the type to exclude all forms of relationship with boys away from me, at least if they weren't family.

My best friend Juliana gently nudged me and said, "are you going to stop staring at him?!" loud enough for the whole universe to hear, even though she sat right next to me.

I nudged her back for being so loud. "I'm trying." I whispered.

She rolls her eyes, causing me to laugh. Her eyes went back ro the field and she watched as her brother caught a ball that Kevin had threw.
"You know, I didn't only bring you here just so you can stay with me 'till he finishes practice." She said, pointing at her older brother, Marcus.

"I know, I know." I laughed. "You brought me here 'cause you knew I wanted to see him." I quickly nodded at Kevin's direction.

After a minute, she smirks. "He's looking over here." I kept my eyes on my lap and I could feel my heartbeat speed go up. He couldn't have been looking! But, maybe. Just maybe, this one time he was actually giving me a glance. And if he was, then I would have no doubts that I could start the wedding plans right now! Kidding, kidding! My cheeks heated up unwillingly, just like always.

"He is?" I whisper.

Juli shakes her head and amusement was filled on her face and laced into her voice "Nope! I was kidding." She laughs.

I groan and punch her arm. She laughs harder than before. And she was laughing way too hard for my licking right now. "I hope you choke." I muttered.

She placed her hands on her heart and puckered her lips as if she was hurt. After a second, she bursted out laughing again. "You definitely fell for it!" She punched me back. I resisted the urge to punch her back and sat back down. Even though it was such a hard thing to do.

Juli and I sat and watched the football team practice until they were finally done. Which basically meant we were finally done watching them, after they were sweating a river, and their legs felt like they ran from Florida to Washington at least twenty times. I sigh and walked down the bleachers. I was so ready for Juliana and Marcus to take me home.
