Shit shit!! I was in the deepest shit right now. Robert was gon' murder my ass.

I was always late nowadays. Especially that I always had football practice to attend to. Robert always was upset whenever I walked through the door three seconds late, he would never fully accept the fact that football was another one of my priorities. It wasn't only the barber shop and school.

Quickly I slid my key into my car's ignition and drove out the school's parking lot. I swerved left and right, trying to avoid from crashing with these slow ass students.

Especially with students and parents leaving the school, traffic was being busy as heck. And I was already stopping on a red light. I already could tell my ass would not make it in time.

I sigh. My check was going to look bad this month- not that it ever looked that good.

It seemed as if ten minutes had passed, and the shitty light still hadn't changed. I groaned and punched the driving wheel violently, making the horn sound. Out of the corner of my eye, I could see someone staring at me. I turned to the right and saw that it was Sabienne.

She was on the sidewalk, probably trying to get to work, and giving me the strangest, worried look I've ever seen. She probably saw me punch the wheel. Her eyebrows were scrunched up, and her eyes looked concerned. I chuckled lightly and gave her a smirk. At that, she quickly looked at another direction and gulped.

Ma' was so shy.

I grinned. Looking at the time, I couldn't give her a ride. But since she saw me, it would be hella rude if she saw my car speed away.

I sigh for the millionth time and quickly rolled down the window. "Get in, ma." I yelled at her. Just when I yelled that at her, the light decided to turn green.

This second time of offering her a ride, she actually accepted, and quickly ran to the passenger side of my car and got in. I sped off and drove to the direction of her job.

At another red light, I halted, and looked at the quite girl beside me. She hadn't said a word during the whole ride, and I was getting a bit annoyed.

"You're welcome, Sabienne."

She quickly looked up from her lap with a confused expression on her face. The realization sinked in and she scrunched her eyebrows together. "Mhm."

I was taken aback. Why was she being so defensive for? I decided to just shut up and not say anything to her again. She was probably in a bad mood.

After a while, I was too agitated by the silence and decided to speak again. "You okay, ma?"

"Yeah I'm fine." She said and gave me an reassuring smile.

"I heard when a female say 'she's fine', it's a lie." I said giving her a small smile. She laughed.

"For real, I'm fine." She says again.

"Why you not talking then?" I asked.

"Well if you didn't notice, I'm very shy." She said rolling her eyes.

I shrugged, "I don't always have the time to pay attention to people." I told her and immediately regretted when I saw her face drop.

She looked down at her lap again. I thought she was upset before, but now there was no doubt that she was. Her lips were set into a thin line and her eyes grew darker than usual. She stared at her finger nails.

I groaned out loud. It was beginning to seem like I had a habit of saying the wrong thing, especially to her.

"Sorry, I-"

"Mhm."

In less than two minutes I made it to her store. Without a good bye or a thank you, she stepped out of the car and walked to the front.

I watched as she tried to pull the front door of the store open. It didn't budge though. She tried two more times without progress then looked inside through the glass door.

She stepped back angrily and crossed her arms. She paced around and suddenly yanked out her phone. I watched as she dialed a number with so much force that it seemed it would break under that amount of pressure. But it didn't. At least not yet.

I honked at her. Her eyes slid to mines and surprisingly she glared...yes Sabienne had just glared at me. A real glare. Not fake...no...Sabienne Thomas had just given me a real life glare. I never knew she had it in her. Was it bad that I had caused her to go to that level?

Okay maybe that wasn't wrong. But my next thought was definitely wrong.

'Cause it was kind of cute...inappropriate I know. I never really agreed when some guys said that mad girls were a turn on...but that glare this girl just threw at me might have just changed my whole fucking mindset.

I honked at her again, mostly in hope that she'd get mad again. She did even better this time. She threw both her hands up in the air and marched towards my car. Angrily she threw her right hand onto her hip and yelled out, "What you want, lil' boy?!"

I tried to ignore every little feeling of excitement and rolled my eyes at her. "Get inside, Sabienne." I said in the calmest voice I could muster.

She rolled her eyes back, looked between the store and me, then finally stepped inside the car.

She threw her phone down and grumbled, "won't even pick up a damn phone!"

Before driving out, I stared at her. "Is the store closed?" I asked.

"Yes! And them assholes didn't even notify me!" She yelled. "Wasted my mother fucking time!"

I didn't know whether to laugh or to get turned on. Instead I was going to be a civil civilian and give her my complete compassion. "It doesn't matter."

She looked up at me and sigh.

"I'll just take you to the barber shop with me."

"Barber shop?" She asked, her eyebrows scrunched up again, "no boy, you gon' take me home."

I chuckled at that and said nothing. I drove out her store and took the road to my Uncle's Barber. I had already considered my options. If I took her home, I'd be murdered. If I took her to the shop, I'd be there faster. And maybe, just maybe, everyone would be distracted by the fact I had a girl beside me.

We finally made it to the shop.

Sabienne had not said a word, and when I looked at her, she was staring at her phone. She felt my eyes, probably, and looked back. I decided this would be a good time to play a little game.

I smirked and held my gaze. She realized my challenge and visibly flinched. Without two seconds passing, she looked away.

I chuckled. She was so shy, it was actually pretty adorable.

She looked at our surroundings and groaned. "So you really brought me here?"

"Yeah." I said smiling. "And you can't do nothing about it."

She rolled her eyes, and stuck her hand into her bag. My eyes widened as a I saw a large amount of a yellow colered candy withdraw from her bag.

She quickly unwrapped one and threw one  into her mouth. It was weird how fast her expression changes from annoyance and unhappiness to content and satisfaction.

As if she could read my mind, she looked at me, smiled, and said, "food does that to me."

I lightly chuckled. "Really?"

She nodded. "Especially Butterscotch candy."
