Kevin
"Okay, so what did I really do?"
Sabienne looked at me with a small frown and shook her head, making me chuckle.
"You really wanna know?" She asked, with an eyebrow raised. "And do you really want to face my rage again?"
I laughed. "I just did. I can do it again."
"Um, no you didn't! You were stuttering and everything!" She exlaimed, laughing.
I shrugged, a smile forming on my lips. "I guess your stuttering is contagious."
"No, that was completely-"
"Sabienne! What did I do wrong?"
She sighed. "This picture you posted. I was sleeping and Ty must have thought something."
"Oh shit." I murmured. "He saw it?"
"Yeah." Sabienne said. "I guess he thought that we were alone and being intamate or something, and that I fell asleep next to you."
Her words formed images in my head, and how it didn't seem like a bad idea.
I quickly snapped out of it, because of course, that was inappropriate of me.
"I'm really sorry, Sabienne. I shouldn't have done that. I'm really sorry."
"Kevin, it's okay." She says. "Well, why did you post it anyway?"
I shugged. "When you found out, I thought it would be funny to see your reaction. And," My eyes slid away from her, "I thought you looked cute."
When I looked back at her, I could see her gulp and her eyes were on the floor.
I smiled, because she was always so adorable when she was flustered.
"You know this period is about to end and were still in the restroom?" I said.
"Their going to call home, and I'm gonna be in so much trouble. But right now, I don't really care." She said.
"What?!!" I opened my mouth wide to show fake surprise. "Sabienne's turning into a bad girl??!!"
She laughed. "It's not even that. I'm just too worried about Ty."
"Oh yeah?" I said, trying not to roll my eyes.
I never liked that nigga but now I was straight up confused as to why Sabienne was into him. His temper was too much, and he was coming off as very controlling. And Sabienne was way too sensitive for that.
She sighed. "Yeah. I guess I have to find him and apologize again."
"It shouldn't work that way, you know." I said. "None of this was your fault. He should be the one apologize for letting his anger take control of him."
"I guess."
The short answer kinda irritated the shit out of me. She wasn't seeing what I wanted her to see.
A few hours later, school had ended. As I was heading to my car, I could see her talking to Ty. He looked pretty chill talking to her, all the anger seemed to be out of his eyes.
His eyes landed on me and it seemed like all hateful emotions had flooded back in.
Sabienne's hand went on his chest and he looked okay again.
I got inside my cars and rolled my eyes. That nigga was a waste of her time.
I drove to the barber shop, which was filled with customers. As soon as I was done there, I drove to the basketball court where Marcus and a few guys were waiting to play some ball.
"Ay, sup." Some guy gave me a high five. "You on my team."
I didn't hesitate since Marcus was on the same team. The basketball was thrown up in the air, I jumped up and caught it. I ran towards the hoop while dribbling the ball, raised my hands, and one...two...three...shoot.
The ball fell into the hoop with a smooth swish. After that score, I made a few more points, and we ended up winning.
I wiped my brow with the end of my shirt and walked to one of the benches.
I sat down and Marcus took a seat next to me. A few boys from our team gave us high fives, and complimated our basketball skills. Someone told us we could leave football if we wanted to.
Marcus laughed. "I could. But football's the best sport to ever exist man!"
"Nah, hell nah!" One of the boys yelled, laughing.
Marcus chuckled and turned to me. "That was a great game."
I shrugged.
He studied me for a second. "Something's up with you. I mean you always look like you're in a bad mood, but today, you look worse."
"What?" I looked at him with a frown. "I always look like I'm in a bad mood?"
He rolled his eyes. "What's up with you?"
I shrugged my shoulders. "Nothing." I said nonchalantly.
I gasped when I felt Marcus's fist on my side. "Aye man, chill! What was that for?"
"We're best friends, ain't we? You can't sit here and lie to me like that. Especially if something's bothering you. You gon sit here and share your feelings with me, today!" He says.
"Nigga what?! You my therapist today?" I said. "Wait, you must be taking BFF lessons from Juli and Sabienne now?"
He laughed. "It's Sabienne, huh?" He says with a knowing look.
"Why you say it like that?"
"I can tell. Just by the way said her name." He said. "Does this have to do with Ty too?"
"Yeah."
"Oh. So what happened between y'all?"
"Nothing really." I said. "I wasn't upset before. But as the day went on, I just keep thinking more about this whole situation it's making me upset, I guess."
"What situation?" Marcus asked.
"I don't know, man. It's complicated. I just have a bad feeling about Sabienne and Ty's relationship. And he doesn't deserve her either."
"Wait, are you saying that you should be in a relationship with her instead, or that you deserve her?" He asked.
"What?! How did anything out of my mouth lead you to that?!" I said, frowning.
Marcus shrugged. "Well, it seems like you got feelings for her anyway."
My mouth opened wide. "Wait...what??!!" I cried.
"You do." Marcus rolled his eyes.
"No, Marcus. I don't. And neither does she. I mean, I think she used to. But not anymore, since she started dating that piece of shit."
Marcus raised his eyebrow. "Then, why do you hate her boyfriend so much?"
"Marcus, we have a weird relationship. Just a few months ago, I ain't know nothing about this girl. Then suddenly, I give her a ride and we become acquaintances. Then, things fly quickly and I don't even know everything about her, but suddenly I care a lot about her. And it's confusing. Like I care about her in a best friend or sister like way, and I don't even know her like that!"
"Okay...okay shut up Kevin." Marcus says shaking his head. "You sound whipped and you're not even in love with her."
I laughed at that. "Kind of."
Sorry for any spelling errors, guys. Ily!!!
