Once again, I was waiting with Juliana for her brother. It was raining, even though it was hot just a few minutes ago. Well, that's Florida to you. One minute it's hot and sunny and the next, it's raining cats and dogs. Thank goodness that our school had something covering the football field.

Surprisingly, none of the football team had made it here yet. Juli and I were early, I guess.

We sat on the bleachers and just ran our mouths until I heard sounds of feet approaching.

Juli and I both turned to see who they were but it was only one person, Kevin.

I could have had a panic attack right there. He didn't seem to notice us sitting on the highest bench of the bleachers. His focus was solely on his phone as he sat down on one of the lower benches.

Juli took my hands and an excited look flashed in he eyes. I could tell she just had one of her crazy ideas. She got up and before I could stop her, she yanked me up with her. Knowing what she was about to do, I protested. She started to pull at my hands and I kept on whispering "no! No!" Now we were making a loud commotion.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Kevin turn around with a look of shock on his face. Those beautiful dark eyes landed directly on me.

I stopped pushing Juli away, and basically everything else stopped too. My body was frozen in place as I looked back at him. I could feel my heartbeat rate get faster, some butterflies fly around my belly, and my cheeks even heated up.

Kevin's gaze quickly turned to confusion. His eyes flickered to Juli than back to me. I looked away and sat back down.

When I had finally had the courage of looking back at him, he was still looking at me. His eyes held a look of amusement.

He smiled. "Hey." He said to the both of us. Juli replied to him while I replied back in what seemed to be barely a whisper.

He smiled again at the both of us and then turned around, as his focus went right back to his phone.

Juli punched my shoulder. "Well, he definitely was looking at you." She whispered in my ear.

I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, for the wrong reason." I glared at her. "Thanks to you."

Juli throws her head back laughing. "You were acting so weird!"

I rolled my eyes again and took out my phone. A few minutes passed and the football team were still not here.

"Are they coming, or nah?" Juli asked impatiently.

"That's what I was going to ask you." I glared at her. I did not have time to wait for Marcus.

She rolled her eyes. "Well, you call Marcus. I'll go ask him why they're late." She said pointing at Kevin.

I nodded and called Marcus. Meanwhile, Juli went down the bleachers to where Kevin sat.

"Hey Marcus." I said when he picked up.

"Sabienne, what's up?!" He said.

"Where are you?" I asked in an intentionally accusing tone.

"Girl, chill." He laughs. "Are you still im school? I told Juli there's no football practice today."

"What?!" My hand slapped my forehead. "Where are you?! You've got to be kidding me!"

"Home!" He laughed as if there was anything funny about the situation we were in.

"I hate you, Marcus. Come pick us up right now!"

"Right now!!!" He mocked as he laughed, and hung up the phone.

I called Juli up. "There isn't any football practice today."
