The last classes were less annoying to him than he had expected. Gerard finally heard the last bell of the day which announced that he could get out of that hell and that he wouldn't have to come back until the next day.

Gerard went to his locker before leaving the building and getting in the school bus, Mikey and he took it just when they wanted to. And that day was one of those days although it wasn't raining anymore.

Already sat down, Gerard put his earphones on and turned his MP3 on. He picked a song by The Misfits and tried to disconnect from everything.

Thinking about it, that day hadn't been that bad despite of having started in a hopeless way. At least it hadn't been that lonely since he hadn't been completely alone during the break for first time in the last two years. He had been talking with that boy... What was his name? Frankie, right?

The Ways' house was in a very small and neglected street in Belleville. They were one of the few families that lived in that neighbourhood and nobody besides the Way brothers got off the bus in the same bus stop they did. In addition, it wasn't a safe place so Gerard and Mikey didn't go outside too often.

The bus arrived at the closest to his house bus stop. Gerard hadn't seen his brothet sitting on the bus, he guessed he would have gone walking, that's why he didn't wait for him.

However, somebody did get off the bus after him. Feeling surprised, Gerard took a look over his shoulder. It was thr boy he had talked to during the break. What was he doing there? Was he following him? He liked that boy even though they hadn't talked too much but his shyness didn't allow him to dare to say something to him, he just pretended he hadn't seen him.

It wasn't so useful anyways.

"Hey, Gerard!" he heard a scream from his back while that boy ran next to him.

"Hello... Frankie, right?"

"Well, they use to call me Frank" the boy smiled. Gerard blushed not only because of his own mistake but because he just realized how tender sounded that derivative of his true name. "But if you prefer to call me that way... I don't mind." Frank smiled again while Gerard's cheeks turned even more red, if it was possible.

They were some seconds in silence until Frank talked again.

"Hey, why were you alone today during the break?"

That question made Gerard feel uncomfortable. Should he tell him the truth? That he was so pathetic he didn't have nobody? He decided to answer:

"I just don't get on really well with my mates."

"Why? There are nice people."

"Yeah but when you're different or a little 'bigger'... People don't use to be that nice."

"How stupid are your classmates."

"It's not just in my class, Frank. Almost everyone on high school started to laugh at me and now they ignore or annoy me whenever they can. No one wants to talk to the stupid fat boy of thr high school."

"Don't talk about yourself like that, Gerard" said Frank, feeling sorry and guilty for having asked that to that boy. Gerard had seemed to be an interesting boy since the first moment he had seen him. And now he was realizing that yes, indeed, he has a lot to tell. He probably couldn't even imagine how much he had been must to suffer. "Also, I don't understand it." he continued. "I think you're a great dude."

"But we haven't talked much, Frank. You can't judge yet." The other boy said blushing again. Would Frank notice that?

"You're right, I'm sorry. I don't know you that well yet. But I hope I do it soon." he smiled when he saw the boy who was walking next to him turning away as his cheeks turned red.

"Do you live around here?" Gerard asked already surprised by the fact that somebody wanted to buy a house in that grim neighbourhood.

"Yes, we had to move because of my father's job. That's why I also change high schools. Look, there's my house. It was one of the only ones we found on a reasonable price.

'It doesn't surprise me' Gerard thought. That neighbourhood was one of the most dangerous ones in Belleville. Anybody who went to live there should have a very good reason to do it.

Indeed, Frank's house was near. Just two blocks before arriving at Gerard's. After saying a simple 'goodbye', Frank got into his house and Gerard continued his way.
