Chapter Six

****Maya has a date with Josh later in the chapter an outfit is described so for visualization purposes I have chosen this outfit Sabrina has worn which I thought was adorable **** 

"Riley what should I wear?" Maya asked as she was pulling everything from her closet to her bed.

"Since when do you care what you look like?" Riley said as she was watching Maya go crazy from the doorway.

"I know but- it's that it's-"

"Josh?" Riley finished her thoughts for her.

"Exactly" Maya sighed, she couldn't believe she was going this nuts over him.

"You seemed pretty calm during lunch when we talked about it" Riley commented to her as she was trying to rearrange some outfits from the mess of clothes on Maya's bed.

Maya agreed with her for a second, "Lunch was then but this is now and it's 5 right now Josh said to be at his place by 7 and so far I have no outfit my hair is a mess I have no eyeliner and-"

"Maya breathe" Riley said as she hugged her tightly before her anxiety flared up.

"Remember it's just one date nothing more you said so yourself" Riley tried to reassure her and Maya knew it was one date but Josh's words were stuck in her head, A lot can happen on one date.

"Here" Riley handed her an outfit "You will look beautiful in this" she smiled giving her a black long sleeve shirt and a pair of tribal print shorts. Maya took the outfit thinking it was simple and cute, she didn't want to go overboard with her appearance.

"It's perfect, thank you Riles" She was grateful to have Riley by her side, especially when she was going boy crazy.

"Now let's get you ready, you got a date with Josh Matthews " Riley grabbed her hand and lead her into the bathroom to do her hair and makeup. Maya sat on the chair and had Riley work her magic. She wanted tonight to go well because it would be a step forward into their relationship. She had dreamed of going out on a date with Josh since she was 15; and now the time has finally come. She wondered if he was nervous too. She was clueless as to what their plans were for tonight, Josh only texted her his apartment address and told her what time to be there. After lunch with Riley she looked up his address and of course he lived at East Beacon Apartments a ten minute bus ride from her and Riley's apartment.

"There, you're ready peaches" Riley smiled widely placing her chin on top on Maya's head. She was amazed by how clean and effortless Riley made her look. Maya got up from her seat and gave Riley a hug only this time she picked her up and twirled her around.

"Thank you so much" at this point Maya was so excited and couldn't wait to head over to Josh's.

"Anything for you Maya, now go! But don't be home late" Riley said, "You know I can't sleep without knowing you're home".

"I will not keep you waiting" Maya said to her as she was walking out the door. She walked out of West Beacon and headed straight to the bus stop on the corner of 58th and Harlem; the bus was just arriving so she sped up and hopped on.Maya took a seat and awaited the ten minute bus ride which seemed like a lifetime to her. She couldn't believe how her day has gone so far. All she wanted was to have a normal first day of college just like anyone else and what does she get? Josh as her TA and a date with him at the end of the night. Wild she thought. Maya was counting down the minutes in her head; while they stopped to pick up more passengers a guy came by her

"Is this seat taken?" he asked her nervously.

She shook her head no, "It's all yours kid"

"Thanks" he said and he sat down next to her.
