He's just a fantasy, You don't go out with a Fantasy ( Joshaya )

Chapter Ten

A couple months have gone by since Maya and Josh have been together. In those past months Maya has never felt so in love before. Josh was the perfect gentleman in every shape and form. When she came home from school the day they officially were boyfriend and girlfriend Riley was already there; she could barely keep her feet on the ground when Maya revealed what happened. Riley was thrilled, and Maya couldn't be happier. Later that night Josh dropped off her favorite flowers, buttercups, and a note saying, "here's to us and our someday" Maya's heart melted as she couldn't believe Josh was hers and she was his.

Midterms were coming up and so was Thanksgiving break. Maya had been staying up all night studying for her exams, whether it was at her apartment or Josh's. And if she wasn't at his place, Josh would come over to her and Riley's apartment. Which at first Riley didn't mind, but every now and then she would see Maya and Josh getting to close and she drew the line;so lately Maya has been at Josh's. She had a feeling Riley was just missing Lucas and feeling a little lonely, which she understood but now Riley has an idea about how she must of felt whenever she saw Lucas and her together. Regardless it didn't bother her, soon it would be Thanksgiving and Riley would see Lucas and they both would be happy. But until then she would just have to be over at Josh's.Maya was in the middle of writing her Midterm paper for Andrew's class when Josh walked in, he was picking up Chinese for dinner.

"Hi gorgeous" he said as he kissed the top of her head.

"Hello handsome" she replied back giggling. She closed her laptop shut, she needed a break from writing. She walked over to the kitchen and pulled out plates for her and Josh. As they finished serving themselves they took a seat at the dining room table.

"How is your paper coming along?"Josh asked Maya taking in a mouthful of orange chicken. She laughed as she saw sauce all over his mouth.

"Almost finished actually" she said wiping his mouth with a napkin, he was a little embarrassed but Maya thought it was adorable. "I'm about a page or two away thank god because I can't wait until Midterms is over so we can finally relax."she finished saying taking a bite of her beef and broccoli.

"By the way do you know what we are doing for Thanksgiving? I asked Riley her parents invited us back to their place but I don't know-it's just- do you think we can both go without making things weird for them?" Maya was nervous since no one knew about her and Josh except for Riley and that was about it.It's not as if she didn't want to tell anyone she just hadn't seen her family in person yet and she didn't want to drop the bomb over a text or call. Shawn would freak out and she didn't want that. Thanksgiving at the Matthews would be the perfect place to tell everyone. Josh was moving his food back and forth a little before he starting to speak up, "Actually Maya I wanted to talk to you about something"

Maya looked over at him, "What about?" she asked giving him her absolute attention.

"Well" he cleared his throat a bit, "The university has given some of the TAs an opportunity to go to France during break and I-well was chosen to go and was thinking about going I would have to let the administration know by tomorrow though"Maya frowned a little not because of what he said, it was just the timing of it.

"Josh why didn't you tell me earlier?" she asked him, in the back of her mind she wondered did he not trust her?

"I didn't know how to tell you our relationship has been going incredible I didn't want to mess it by leaving or anything...I won't go if that's what you want I can stay and be with you" he said sincerely but Maya sighed that's not what she wanted him to do.

"Josh you need to go. It's France.This opportunity doesn't happen often you will only be gone a week and you will be right back her in my arms in no time" she said smiling, and Josh sounded relived. They had finished eating and Maya went to wash the dishes as Josh wiped down the table. Afterwards they headed to the living room and decided to watch a movie. Maya scrolled all of Netflix and just settled for Clueless. Throughout the movie Maya couldn't help but wonder if Josh didn't trust her. She thought she was overreacting it was just a trip, he didn't need to ask her permission or anything like that but a notice would have been nice. 

"Josh?" she asked quietly.

"Yeah babe?" he looked over at her.

"You can trust me" she said twirling her fingers together. Josh was surprised at what she had said,

"Maya of course I trust you" he paused, "Do you trust me?" 

"With everything in me" she said without any hesitation. 

He smiled at her, "Then we have nothing  to worry about" he said kissing her on the lips.

A short chapter to move the story ahead so we're now around November time, and Josh will be going on a trip to France during Thanksgiving I have quite a plan for this trip and things will get interesting.
