Chapter Thirteen

It's only been a couple hours since Maya  dropped off Josh at JFK for his flight for France. They had to take a taxi considering it was too long of trip to take by subway. The ride was silent on the way there because they didn't know what to say, but what could they say at this point? Maya was on the verge of tears just yesterday at the thought of Josh leaving her. She admits she acted hysterical but only because she refused to lose him. She was scared out of her mind what could happen on his trip. She trusted him but she didn't trust the girls who she knew would be head over heels for him. But can she blame them? Maya kept replaying the image of Josh's plane leaving she placed her hand on the window as it took off, come back she whispered. She closed her eyes and a few tears strolled down her cheeks. She quickly wiped them away, she laughed to herself, stop being silly Maya he's coming back.  She couldn't help it though,

Maya was on her way back to her apartment when she received a text from Riley

Did you drop off Josh at the airport buttercup?

Yeah I'm on my way home

Will you be okay?

I'll try to be.

Okay peaches, remember Lucas and Farkle will be coming later today hopefully they can cheer you up see you soon 

And with that she put her phone away in her bag, she completely forgot that the boys would be here today. She had been so consumed with her drama with Josh it slipped her mind. She hadn't seen them since summer when Lucas left for Texas and Farkle decided to go to Yale, his dream. The taxi had arrived at West Beacon, Maya pulled out her cash and gave it to the driver before getting out. She opened the doors to her building and headed to the elevators. She was exhausted, but had to push through. She opened the door pulling the keys out of the lock

"Riley I'm home!" she yelled out to her as she closed the door behind her. She set her bag on the counter and headed straight to the fridge.

"I'm starving what are we gonna do when the boys-" and suddenly she felt arms around her and she was being picked up

"Maya!!" Lucas said twirling her around and putting her back on her feet.

"Ranger Rick" she said out of breath. She smacked him on his shoulder, "Don't do that!" she said aggressively.

"Oh come one Maya I just missed you that's all" Lucas smiled at her.

"Alright.." she said smiling back at him "But if it happens again I'll send you back to-"

"MAYA" and within a second Farkle had rushed over to hug her, "Not again" she groaned, Farkle was hugging her so tight she could hardly breathe.

"I've missed you so much" Farkle said still holding onto Maya for dear life. She gave in and hugged him back tighter, "Me too" she said genuinely because she did. She was happy to be back with her friends, she needed a break from her worries. 

Riley came out to kitchen to see what the commotion was about, "I see the boys have found you" she said smiling.

"Clearly" Maya said heading to the living room, they all followed behind her.

Riley sat next to her on the couch, "Is Josh going to let you know when he lands?"

Maya nodded, "His flight is about 11 hours so not anytime soon, but yeah he said he would call".

The girls didn't notice but Farkle and Lucas glanced at each other confused when they heard mentioned Josh's name.

"Where did Josh go?" Lucas asked them.
