After leaving Josh's apartment Maya wasn't ready to go home just yet, it was still early to call it a night especially after what just happened. She wasn't ready to come home and explain to Riley the situation she was in. Maya walked aimlessly through New York city as she was contemplating the night she was having. Every single time her and Josh were getting closer to defining a relationship between them something came up. Maya didn't mind because they were little things, but this? This was not little, it was the complete opposite of little. The love of Josh's life had come back to try to win him over again. He didn't seem to take an interest over her visit, but Maya knew he was just hiding his feelings to protect her. How can someone just pretend the last two years were nothing? Just the thought hurt Maya's heart. She needed Josh to think over his feelings, but for an odd reason she wasn't worried. She just wanted things to be easier with Josh but it appeared their chances were falling short. She could have easily told him to not go back with her but she did. Why would she do that? Why would she give him up so easy?

Maya had reached an unfamiliar part of town that she hadn't explored yet.She was walking down the street about to head back before she got lost when a bright light caught her attention. Heading up the street the bright light had formed words, "Bar Louie" she moved closer to entrance there was sign outside "Karaoke night all welcome to join", Maya smirked don't mind if I do she said to herself as she walked in. She had never stepped foot in a bar before but what she's seen in movies this seemed spot on. There was a stage in the center, pool tables and a jukebox, couple t.vs, nothing to special but it came off as welcoming. She took a seat towards the back, a host came by her asking it she wanted anything to drink, since she couldn't drink just yet a lemonade would to for now.As she waited for her drink she glimpsed around noticing it was a pretty decent crowd. Her drink came right on time as the next person to karaoke was ready to sing. Maya thought karaoke was a hit or miss because people could either pour their hearts out or be ridiculous, regardless it was still entertaining. A girl had just finished singing "Into you" by Ariana Grande, Maya thought she sang well and clapped for her. She sipped from her lemonade waiting for the next person to go when she noticed someone familiar a couple tables ahead of her. Is that Evan? Maya couldn't see him clearly but she thought it was. She saw him get up to the bar probably to get a drink, she also noticed the bartender checking his card. He put his card back into his wallet and grabbed his drink. I guess he's around 21 Maya was thinking to herself, she laughed what was her and older guys? As he was making his way back to his seat he looked over to her direction, and saw her but he did a double take. He probably was thinking the same thing as she was beforehand, she waved him over by her table seeing if you would come, and he did.

"Maya?"he asked not quite sure of himself.

"The one and alone" she said raising her glass of lemonade, he laughed.

"I didn't know you were the type to go out and do the bar scene" he says sipping his drink.

"To be honest I'm not, just had a rough night and saw the karaoke sign and I thought sure, why the hell not? And now I'm here drinking this lemonade talking to a cute guy" she bursted out not realizing she accidentally called him cute. "Sorry I'm doing that rambling when I'm nervous thing again" she looked away talking a gulp of her lemonade.

"Don't worry about it, it's always flattering to know a beautiful girl like yourself thinks I'm cute" he said to her. Maya felt a little better knowing she didn't completely embarrassed herself.

"So are you up for a karaoke or you just a watcher?" he joked around with her. She never really thought about it before, she did karaoke once and it was a duet.

"I've done karaoke once, a duet with a friend of mine, Lucas, back in Texas from one of my favorite musicals of all time." she laughed while reminiscing the memory.
