Midterms were officially over and life couldn't be better. After the final exam I headed back to my apartment to do the last finishing touches on packing, I couldn't believe I would be in France in the next 24 hours, unreal. As exciting as it all was I was going to miss Maya.Later tonight she said she would stop by one last time before I go. I took a break from packing and was trying to figure out what to order for dinner for Maya and I when my phone buzzed,

Are you excited for the trip? ;)

I groaned. She couldn't be serious. Lately Madison, another TA for the art department, has not left me alone ever since she heard about the trip. She would constantly try to get me to hang out with her but honestly I wasn't even interested in being her friend. The only reason she has my number is because we had to exchange our numbers among all TAs and it wasn't bad at first until a couple weeks ago.I'm not sure how it started but I'm guessing it's when I asked if she had the lesson plans for Andrews' class she must have took that as a sign of interest. Lucky me. I heard someone at the door, which was weird because I locked it behind me. I walked out of my bedroom and saw Maya in the kitchen it appeared that she was unloading groceries.

"How did you get in? I asked her curiously. She jumped a bit.

"Don't do that!" she yelled throwing a piece a bag of skittles at me, my favorite.

"Do what?" I laughed trying to open the bag.

"Startle me! Can't you see I'm mentally preparing myself to make dinner?"she said demonstrating all the ingredients on the table. Well she wasn't wrong I don't think I've ever seen Maya Hart cook in my life,let alone pick up a measuring cup.

"By the way I used a spare key you gave me remember?" she continued saying as she pulled up the recipe from her phone, she looked up at me, "Unless you want the spare back?" she asked but I shook my head.

"It's all yours love" I said smiling at her.

"So what are we having?" I only asked because she was still on her phone. I walked behind her wrapping my arms around her waist. I looked down at her screen trying not to laugh abruptly, "Pasta primavera?You need a recipe for pasta primavera?"

"Josh Matthews do you want to eat or not?" she stared me down cold. I put my hands up and backed away slowly heading back to pack.

"I'll call you when it's ready!' Maya yelled from the kitchen.

About an hour passed by and I had already finished packing when I heard Maya scream from the kitchen saying dinner was ready. I closed my suitcase shut and went straight to the kitchen to see Maya had set up the table with candles and placed flowers in the center.

"Maya's what's going on?" I said taking a seat.

"I just wanted tonight to be nice since you're leaving, oh and it's our 3 month anniversary no big deal" she said as she lit the candles.

"Maya I'm sorry.." I tried apologizing but she just shook her head. I felt like a shit boyfriend right now.

"You know I'm not one for  romantic gestures and I'm not about the monthly anniversaries but I just wanted to do something special for us. I love you Josh and I know it seems like we've been together a short time but I can't imagine a life without you, and I don't want too. I don't plan on it. I waited for our someday for so long, at one point I thought it was all fantasy that it was all in my head but we pulled through." she sat in her seat quietly for moment and she spoke up again, "And here we are, together, in love" her eyes were glistening.

"Maya.."there was no way I could say something that could compare to her words,so I just said what I could in the moment, "I love you." and that's all she needed to hear as she sat smiling ear to ear.

After we enjoyed our we meal we did what we do best, movies and cuddling.It was my pick tonight so naturally I chose breaking bad, can't get enough of it. As we were watching the movie my phone starting vibrating, I checked to see who is was from and it could not have come at a worst time

Can't wait for our trip cutie

I put my phone back in my pocket but it went off again, this time I ignored it.

"Who's that?" Maya asked still looking at the screen.

"Nobody"I said, which wasn't a lie because Madison was a nobody.

"Oh..okay" she said not thinking much of it but a second later she grabbed my phone from my pocket.

Huge mistake.

"Ha ha!" she yelled getting up from her spot

"Maya-" Whatever I was going to say didn't matter anymore it was too late she already unlocked my phone

"Josh what the hell?" She said as I saw her scrolling down my phone probably looking through the obnoxious texts Madison has sent me.

"Maya she's just another TA who has a crush on me she always sends me texts but I never respond unless it's school related I swear" I said defending myself.

"Josh she has called you cutie, babe and she sends you winky faces? How come you don't tell her to stop? This is an obsession does she know you're taken?"Maya sounded furious at me.

"Well no because I don't talk to her-"

"So she thinks she might have a chance?"

"No of course not Maya-"

"Josh you're going on a trip with her to France one of the most romantic cities in the world how can you not tell her to back off? How could-"

"Maya how can you say that? I didn't say anything because she's just another girl she's not the girl I want. Maya, I'm in love you with you. You are the only girl I want. And it's not even about wanting anymore you are the girl I need. Maya don't you understand ?" Maya was on the verge of crying I could see it.

"Josh promise me you're not going to do anything on this trip you'll regret" her eyes were watery.

"Maya-"

"Promise me Josh. I am not losing you. I refuse."

"Maya I promise you, nothing is worth losing what we have" I said almost breathless, I held onto her so tightly I never wanted to let her go.

I didn't like writing this chapter to be honest sorry if things escalated quick just wanted to post a chapter tonight it needed to happen in order to advance the trip 

Sorry for the late update! Again, I have work on the weekends so it might take an extra day or two
