Satomi's P.O.V.
Aang relieves me of my post at midday. I scavange through the bags for food only to find there is hardly enough to share between three people. I close the bag my stomach slightly annoyed with the events. I sigh and look over Appa's saddle at the surroundings below. I become lost in my thoughts, and I am only pulled from them when the driver changes. Sokka takes Aang's place late in the afternoon. Once it grows dark though I am back at the reins. I wait for the others to fall asleep before moving through all the airbending, waterbending, and earthbending moves. I then proceed to move through half the fire bending moves okay and another quarter of them sloppily. I go through these a few times before moving to the Avatar forms. I don't even try to count the number of times I move through these. I do not stop dancing through these moves until the gray light of morning finds me. I put away my peebles and water and settle back down against Appa's head not entirely pleased with my work. I return to my thoughts that wander aimlessly. I am drawn from them by a hand being placed on my shoulder. I tilt my head back to find Aang.

"Go get some sleep," he says. I nod and move to my pack in the late morning. I snuggle down against my pack wearily and doze off. The nightmares that find me are ones of my time with Zhao as I had expected. These do not wake me until late afternoon for which I am grateful. I needed the sleep. I yawn pulling myself up, my back and shoulders popping in the process. I look around to find that we have already landed in a forest by a river. I have woken up just in time to find Sokka barreling in the river with his knife trying to catch a fish. I chuckle softly as he does. I turn my eyes to Katara who is pulling on a necklace Aang has been working on for some time. He beams ecstatic. I smile at his child like behavior. Katara thanks him for the gift. Sokka proceeds to tease Aang making odd facial expressions with a fish in his hand implying Aang and Katara kissing or being a couple rather. The fish in his hand slaps his face with its tail causing him to release it. It splashes back into the water and sprays water on Sokka's pants. Katara protests saying that Aang is just a good friend. She even compares the young monk to Momo. I don't miss the flicker of hurt in Aang's eyes. A loud crash is suddenly sounds as a scuffle near us begins. I jump off Appa and follow the others to the source of the noise. A creature is attacking a man who is dodging its attacks without fear. He even tries to converse with us about the weather. My eyebrow shoots up. Is he serious right now? The strange man continues on as if he wasn't being attacked. I pinch the bridge of my nose. I am absolutely not dealing with this today or any day. This is pure insanity.

"You can take this one, Aang," I yawn sleep still pulling at me. "I don't deal with extremely rash people. That's your department," I say remembering how well me handling someone like this before turned out. Aang nods and approaches the animal with Appa.

"I think that is for the best," Aang says over his shoulder. Appa rears back and slams four of his paws on the ground. The creature scared out of its wits lays an egg before rushing off somewhere to hide. I chuckle lightly. Sokka scoops the egg up and cradles it on his hip. "Appa-one, creature-zero," I proclaim with a smile. Appa roars in pride at his work. Aang merely pats the bison's nose before questioning the strange man. I listen to the conversation and take in the little information that's necessary to know that I will not be doing anything but sleeping. "If you need me I will be asleep," I tell Aang jumping on Appa's saddle and curling up against my bag. He nods knowing this is not the kind of problem I can help with. It will only irk me causing me to be a jerk, so sleeping is a much better solution to which I know Aang agrees as I fall asleep with rain lightly pelting down on my cloak.

I am woken by cheers of a crowd in the middle of a nightmare to which I am thankful and confused. I shoot up and look about to find my companions. I sift through the crowd until I find my friends near the center and just a little ways in front of Appa. Aang catches my eyes and nods. I tilt my head to the side still in the dark on the situation as a whole.
