Satomi's P.O.V.
Aang arrives late in the night. "So where to?" I ask as he climbs into the saddle to sleep.

"The North Pole," he responds curling up in the saddle. I smile.

"Yip, yip," I whisper to Appa. He groans lightly before taking off. "It's alright buddy. Once we get to the ocean you can swim through the night and we can follow the coast," I tell him. He groans again and changes to directions to take us on the most direct path to the North Pole. "You sure buddy?" I ask him. He blows a huff of air and takes off over the land. We fly through the night in silence and most of the day until Aang finally awakens a few hours past midday.

"I'll take over. Go get some rest."

"Thanks Aang," I smile before cuddling into my pack. I drift into a light dreamless sleep with no nightmares pulling at me. I don't know how long I sleep, but when I wake it is night time. I bolt upright and look for the others, but they are no where in sight. I find a piece of paper taped on the edge of Appa's saddle.

"Went to look for food in nearby town
-Sokka"

"Will be back soon. Don't worry.
-Katara"

"I didn't want to wake you. We should be back in a few days, if not we will need serious help.
-Aang"

Wonderful. They left me. I sigh. There is no point in trying to go after them though. I could get lost, and the others would look for me while I searched for them. It would be a mess. I pull my pack off Appa's saddle and pull out a can of fruit. I scoop the fruit out with my fingers and drain the juice. Fatigue settles in against me once more I walk to Appa's head.

"Hey bud if there's trouble take off and make sure to wake me up, but don't go too far," I tell him. He groans in response. "Thanks Appa," I reply. I snuggle against my pack, and against the better thoughts of my judgement telling me to stay awake, I go to sleep.

**three days later**

The sun has began to set, and I am flying overhead on Appa to find the others. I find a small Earth Nation village finally, but a quick look around shows that Aang and the rest of team Avatar are not here. "Come on Appa we have to find them," I urge him as we follow the fire nation soldiers fleeing the village. We find a shipyard with three figures waving us down. "That's them isn't it Appa?"

He huffs before diving down to reach them. We land on the ship just int time to find Katara in dismay about the loss of her mother's necklace. I frown as I jump down. "That sucks," I reply to her. She nods with a sad glaze over her eyes. I turn my eyes to Aang. I grab my glider from my back and slap his head with it. "What in the bending where you thinking?" I ask whacking him with my glider once more. It thuds audibly against his head.

"Hey," he says grabbing the end of my glider. "We left you a note," he says as I yank my glider from his hands.

"That doesn't make leaving me any better," I growl hitting him again. The Earth bender beside Katara chuckles. I stop beating Aang for a moment and flip my staff around. "Hi," I say.

"Hi," he smiles in return. I look to Katara.

"So who is he?" I ask her.

"I'm still here you know," the stranger smiles.

"Who are you then?" I ask him.

"So this must be Satomi?" he asks Katara. She nods with a smile.

"Do you know who I am?" He tilts his head to the side in slight confusion. Liar. I whack Aang again. "I thought we agreed that I was supposed to stay invisible," I growl. "It doesn't work if you tell everyone," I say smacking Aang with almost every word. The strange man chuckles.
