"What happened?" Lovie asked Marlene the next morning. "Why's she in such a bad mood?"

First, a word on Lovie.

Lovie was, in a word, voluptuous. She was something of the school heartbreaker, and along with her white blonde wispy hair and heart shaped face, her most distinguishable feature was that along with her school uniform she wore a pair of bright red high heels.

"Didn't you hear her shouting?" Marlene whispered.

"I was out," Lovie responded in an equally low voice, though hers tended towards to high end of the spectrum (she was a fantastic soprano).

"Pass the--that," Lily said to Lovie, flailing her arm. Lovie pushed the basket toward her with a carefully manicured hand.

"What happened?" Lovie asked Lily bluntly. Lily looked up at her. Her eyes were still bloodshot, clashing against her green irises.

"James was being a prat again, and I got in trouble for it."

"You did shove him up against a wall and threaten to, like, kill him," Marlene pointed out.

"I wasn't going to kill him," Lily protested. "Also, Marlene suggested something insane and--"

"Logical," Marlene interrupted.

"And it was..." Lovie asked, helping herself to breakfast.

"Not logical. I need to think about it, okay?" Lily pleaded, not meeting Marlene's eyes.

Marlene bit her tongue. "You know I'm right, though." Dumbledore, come through for us!

As if on cue, hundreds of birds came fluttering into the hall, clutching pieces of paper and swooping to their owners. A large, tawny owl that Marlene had never seen before came to a rest before Lily, two pieces parchment tied to its leg. One read Lily, the other James, in calligraphic font.

"Oh no," Lily tugged the parchment away and the owl flew off. Her face went even paler than usual as she read her letter.

"Dumbledore...oh Merlin...he can't really mean to...I have to go."

Marlene caught a glimpse of Lily's face before she turned away. She looked like she was about to be sick.

"I'm going to...uh." Marlene stood up and started searching for a certain long haired Marauder.

"You too?" Lovie didn't sound particularly concerned. Marlene nodded, having located Black. Next to him sat Remus, Peter, and an empty chair.

Where did Potter go?

"Yeah...see ya." She marched over to Sirius, who looked up with a grave expression.

"We need to talk," she said with a sigh.

A/N: *hyperventilates*

"Ava, why are you hyperventilating?"

I'm not hyperventilating! Are you hyperventilating? I think you are!

...okay, okay. But I'm excited! Because the next chapter is THE CLASSROOM COMPLEX and I'm so excited!

*clears throat* More on that, later.

What'd you think of Lovie? (I think I've accepted the fact that I'm just talking to myself when I ask this stuff.)

Adios, chicas.

WAITNOWAIT. In return for reading "Demon" out loud and randomly commenting on it, I shamelessly promote @xXTheCagedBirdXx 's new story "Where's Alice?" which is really amazing and is anyone even reading this A/N. (^^^I told you I would do it! >:D)

*clears throat* That's all for today!

Ava out.
