~Ayano's POV~

I walked out of my class slowly, trying to blend in. I found my Senpai! I had studied chemistry so I headed over to the chemistry lab. I scanned the shelves, a particular 'chemical' catching my eye.

"Could come in handy." I muttered as I shoved it in the side of my skirt. I headed up to the roof, seeing a purple haired girl waking to a bench. I think her name was Kokona.

"Oh! There he is!" She walked to wall, spying on...Senpai?! I grumbled and opened the poison, glad I had taken precautionary measures. I emptied the bottle into the bento she brought then sat down on the bench. Now to act heroic...

She took a bite and began to choke. I jumped up, running to her and beginning to perform the Heimlich Maneuver. She clasped her neck as everyone else came over.

"Saki! Get her legs!" I yelled and she did so, and we lifted her onto the bench. I 'accidentally' knocked her bento box off. I began CPR as everyone watched as Kokona reached upward and grabbed my face. "I'm trying Kokoa, I'm trying. Don't you dare give up. Don't you dare." I said and she motioned for me to come closer. I did, still doing CPR.

"Thanks...for everything....I know you tried but..." Her hand fell limp and I could hear her last breath. If Senpai wasn't watching I would be dancing right now. Saki let out a high pitched screeched and I frantically turned around.

"Get the nurse and call the cops!" I yelled as Koharu ran down the stairs while typing on her phone. I pressed my fingers to her neck, filled with joy as there was no pulse. I wanted to scream from the rooftop and dance. I could do that later. Thank god my mom made me take acting classes a few years back. Otherwise I would look like an idiot and Senpai would know all about me. The nurse came running up and shoved me aside. I tripped over my feet and fell to the ground, exhaling as my hands came into contact with the hard floor. Saki helped me up and I saw she was crying. More people filed onto the roof, most walking over to the railing. I walked over as well, Senpai following. I looked down to see an ambulance and two police cars. The paramedics ran up with a stretcher, appearing on the roof minutes later. I turned around and watched as they moved her onto the stretcher and carried her back down. A teacher stood a ways away from the rest of the faculty, on the phone. Must be Kokona's parents. I laughed to myself as the nurse ran down behind the ambulance as they sped away. The cops stared at me from the ground, shaking their heads. I TOTALLY didn't do this. Heh...stupid cops.

All the students were gathered in front of the school. News had arrived that Kokona died in the ambulance and a funeral would be held tomorrow evening. I stood away from the group, acting depressed and getting a few worried glances. Ok, more like everyone would glance at me and then whisper to whoever was next to them. A commotion broke out in the group and I looked over to see a teacher's pet on the ground holding his face while a very angry martial artist stood over him.

"If you ever say that about her again I will do much worse, got it?! At least she tried to help while you just stood around!" He yelled, kicking the guy before some students helped the guy up. The martial artist walked away, towards the corner where I was standing.

"Speaking of which..." The headmaster said as he walked away from the teacher. "Where is Ayano?" I huffed and looked at the setting sun. The police left a while ago, not being able to find out why she died, assuming she choked on a piece of bento. I heard hushed whispers behind me but did my best to ignore it.

"Can I go home yet? I would really like to clear my thoughts." I asked, keeping my voice hoarse.

"Yes, of course Ms. Aishi." The headmaster said from behind me. I turned to the school gates and walked out, heading towards my house. I heard someone running up behind me and turned around, punching the person in the nose.

"Ow..." They said as they bent over and held their nose.

"Oh. It's you. What do you want?" I asked the martial artist in front of me. I noticed the red band on his arm. He must be the leader. He stood up, holding his bloody nose still.

"I just wanted to say that I think you did great earlier. Trying to save Ko-" I let hurt flash over my face as I turned around and continued walking. Just a few more days and Senpai would be mine. "Ayano...you don't think...that that was your fault, do you?" He called from behind me. I stopped, looking at him over my shoulder.

"What does it matter to you? My dad taught me how to save a person if they were in danger and I...I failed. I didn't save Kokona." I whispered as I turned around and kept walking. He grabbed my hand and turned me around. "Ugh let go!"

"Ayano, you did your best and that is all that matters. If you ever say anything like that again I will knock some sense into you, got it?" He said, glaring down at me.

"I said let go!" I yelled, pulling my arm back. "Why would an upperclassman like you even consider talking to an underclassman like me? I bet you can't even knock me down!" I stormed off, reaching my house in ten minutes. Good thing he didn't follow me. I walked inside, slamming the door before walking up to my room and throwing my bag down. I flopped on the bed, falling asleep.

{HA! I FINISHED IT FINALLY! WELL, IM GOING TO WORK ON THE NEXT CHAPTER. BAI~
