#CLIFFHANGERS

~SURPRISE!!! Ayano POV~

I had been watching her for months now. If she even made a move on Budo, I would step in. However, today was different. Today she was striding through the halls, as if looking for something. Or someone...

Maybe she had lost her way and was in a hurry. Doubtful.

She could be looking for her pets. Not so doubtful.

Maybe she was looking for Emiko. Bingo.

She walked right up to the redhead and grabbed her arm, pulling her right away from Taro. I ducked out of sight, following closely as she headed to the back of the school. She threw her towards her two pets, who took her away. I could follow them, see where they're taking her. Or I could keep following Mia.

I chose the latter.

I had been on her case for months now, and I wasn't about to let my friend get in the way of that. She strode back up the stairs, stopping on the third floor and heading back to Taro. She smiled sweetly at him, twirling her hair. He ignored her, walking out of the school. She followed him. I followed her. He was walking out of the school. I heard it too. The sound of screeching choked by tears. Oh no. Taro bolted to the back of the school with Mia behind him. I took her out, sitting on top of her and nodding at Taro to go.

~Emi POV~

I was hanging out with Taro when she appeared. She grabbed my arm, pulling me out of the school before I could even ask questions. She was dragging me towards the back of the school where I could see smoke from the incinerator. She threw me at her two followers, who both took me to the back of the school. I couldn't struggle as they pinned me to the floor in front of the delinquents. What was the worst they would do? Hit me?

A male chuckled, walking over with one of the girl's lead pipes. I could see the red end that they heated up in the incinerator.

"W-Wait! No!" I shouted as he inched it closer to my neck. "Stop!"

It came closer and closer, making contact with my skin. I screamed and closed my eyes as the hot metal burned my skin. Tears spilled over my cheeks as my arms and legs were restrained.

"St-top!" He continued, one of the girls eventually joining in. Then two. 

Three sticks of hot metal being pushed against my skin until they cooled down. I screamed everytime, my screams eventually being choked by my sobbing. 

I couldn't see anymore. All I could feel was the burning of the metal. And then it stopped.

~Taro POV~

I ran to the back of the school, seeing the Emi restrained by two delinquents and Mia's pets. The delinquents were pushing lead pipe that was heated up into her skin, leaving nasty burns. Rage consumed me as I stormed over, grabbing one of their 'spares' and taking out the delinquents. I pointed it at the pets.

"Go, or join them." I gave them a cold glare before watching them run away. All of my rage diminished as I saw her, laying there, looking confused. Her eyes were closed.

"Emi." I said, dropping to my knees and pulling her up on them. "Emi. Open your eyes." 

She did so, looking at me and giving an airy chuckle. I squinted my eyes in concern. Her laughing continued until I put my hand over her mouth.

"Save your voice." She nodded, getting comfier on my knees and leaning into my chest. I could see her shirt was singed in at least ten places, her skirt in three, and her bare skin at least fifteen. At least the delinquents wouldn't be waking anytime soon. I sighed as I looked her over. The ambulance had arrived and was parked in the grass. The paramedics ran out of it, grabbing Emiko and touching several of her burns.

"Be careful!" I yelled at them, watching them move their hands. It didn't change the fact that she was now sobbing from the pain. I climbed into the ambulance next to her and wrapped my arm around her shoulders. At least they hadn't dont any damage to her back. I let her lean on me for more support against the bumps. Back to the hospital....again.

~~~~~~~~~CLIFFHANGERS~~~~~~~~~~

I sat next to her as she slept peacefully. She had gauze everywhere, covering every mark. Budo texted me that the delinquents that tortured her were in prison, leaving three girls and four boys. The doctors had said that her burns wouldn't fully heal, but they would stop hurting in about a year or so. They would of course release her in a few weeks. I think I was on a first name basis with the entire staff. She stirred in her sleep, her eyes squeezed together as she turned on her side, only to bolt awake with tears in her eyes as she rolled on her burns.

"It's ok." I whispered, squeezing her hand. She nodded, scooching over as far as she could and patting the bed next to her with a blush on her face. I chuckled lightly, laying next to her and wrapping my arms gently around her.

"You don't have to stay here all the time." She whispered, playing with her fingers as we cuddled.

"I want to." I whispered back, taking her hands with my one and kissing them. "Because I love you."
