Chapter Twelve - Rings Aren't On Telephones Only

Rey walked into work , her black skirt that had a soft flow to it , her purple shirt with the ruffles and her black blazer .

"Hey Gwen" Rey said as she walked pass the blonde woman.

"Someone seems extra glowy today" she said .

"I may or may not have eaten three brownies in my car" she joked to Phasma .

He was pacing , she could hear him pacing . His feet were heavy across the carpet of his office . He was like a ticking time bomb , ready to go off at anything .

Maybe he needed good news , that's what he needed ... That's all he needed... Good news.

Rey put her chair in her desk then opened his office door . She saw him with messy hair and his tie a loose mess on his chest.

"Ben ? Are you okay?" She asked picking up the stack of paper he knocked over .

"No!" He said quickly "the fucking Hammer Man movie is premiering in Los Angeles on Friday and it's Tuesday and I've yet to hear anything from the plane company I use ... Jessika is off trying to respond to major news outlets and then there's that god damn buzzfeed that keeps sending me emails asking for a statement on your pregnancy-"

"Tell them what Jessika told you to ... I'm pregnant ... You are the father , we've been planning the wedding before you even got me pregnant or my job here ..."

"You're gonna keep it?" He asked .

"Yes" she smiled "I told you I would ... Besides , it might be fun to jet around the world to go with you to premiers and press meetings ... I heard that you have one in Pairs ... The only pairs I've ever been to is Paris Texas ..." She took a seat at his desk as she began to type at his computer .

"What are you doing?" He asked her .

"Typing an official statement to buzzfeed pretending to be you" she replied and was typing at his desk . Within 5 minutes the entire response was printed and sent to the media outlet .

"I have the ring" he said and then went to his coat that was hanging .

"When did you have time to get a ring?" She asked .

"It was easy ... I called one of my interns ... Here" he said handing her a box .

She opened it and gasped . "Oh my god " she said looking at it . "This is beautiful" she marveled at the ring then put it on her finger .

"It's Cartier ..." He replied "tiffany's was closed"

"This is Cartier ?" She was shocked , the ring costed more than her entire college tuition.

"Yes , though I know girls rather have the Tiffany blue box but they were closed at 12 in the morning but Cartier wasn't ..."

"You were going to buy me a Tiffany ring ?" She asked .

"Well if we're gonna be photographed together I figured the ring should look nice" he was acting as if he didn't just spend more than 13,000 dollars on her ring.

"Oh my god Ben!" She says still shocked . "This is ... Oh my god ... I mean I've had rings before ... Like my class ring and sixteenth birthday but this so .. Oh my god" she was still looking at the ring.

"Glad you like it" he smiled . "Speaking of going places and being photographed... Jessika will be here in an hour or so to get you , then you're going shopping for the premiere , and here " he handed her a gold card , it was his personal credit card . "Make sure you get all the stuff you need ... Dress , shoes and all that crap... Ask Jessika to set up the hair and makeup people out there too" he replied "and when you get home make sure you pack your bag ... You know ... I'll send a list to Jessika and have her help you pack " he told her .

"Okay" she smiled , her hand now heavy with her gorgeous ring . "So... I have to go take some more calls and all just let me know if you need anything"

"If I'm honest a Burbon but it's too early" he joked .
