Jade's POV
-------------------------

I stretched, getting off the plane to collect my luggage. I looked over at the luggage belt and saw a familiar person standing with my luggage.

"Calum?"

He smiled and walked over my duffle bag swung over his shoulder.

"Hey Jade." He smirked.

"What are you doing here? Don't smirk at me! This is serious! What're you doing?" I hit him on the arm as we stated walking.

He gave a little laugh as shook his head.

"Well, things got a little boring in New York. I decided to come here for a sense of adventure."

I stated at him. "This could he dangerous. We could get in serious trouble. And not from ordinary Police. I'm talking about the real deal. They wouldn't hesitate to punish us and we wouldn't be able to do anything about it!" I ranted out.

He gave a smirk. Damn that smirk.

"Honey. I live for danger. An who're 'they' anyways?"

"That's something I'll trust you with when we're at a secure location. It's going to be hard to believe but it'll be the truth." I hailed a Taxi.

"Now c'mon. We've got to go rent a actual car and get in the road. The town were headed to is a few hours away and I don't wanna use all my money on a taxi."

His eyebrows crinkled. "Wait where are we going?"

I smiled and put my sunglasses on.

"Oak City."

---------------Time Skip-------------

I walked out of the little cottage type house. "Ok, so this is the cheapest place I could find that's actually nice looking."

He nodded. "Ok. Continue."

I bit my lip. "If we wanna stay here we kinda have to pretend we're married while we're here...." I tailed off.

He gulped nervously and cleared his throat. "Ya. Uh ok. Why exactly?"

"You know how some people are big on tradition? Well that's how Maggie an Liam are. The Inn is for married couples only."

"Well then. After you Honey Bunny." He smirked. I rolled my eyes and sighed. This was going to be a long trip.

"Don't ruin this please. This is the only good place in this town." I groaned. He just laughed and swung an arm around my shoulders.

"Relax babe. I got this." I let out a shaky breath and lead him inside.

"Liam, this is my husband Calum. Cal, this is the caretaker of this place. Liam and his wife Maggie." They shook hands.

"Nice to meet you, sir."

"Thank you so much for letting us stay here. I don't think we'll be here very long." I smiled politely. "If you excuse us, we're going upstairs to settle. We're a little jet lagged so don't be surprised If you don't see us till breakfast."

I took his hand and led him upstairs. He smiled and followed. Once we got to our room I shut and locked the door.

"Alright. I need you to promise you aren't going to freak out on me. After that, I'll tell you everything."

He gave me a blank look.

"Promise me!" I pushed.

"Ok!" He raised his hands in surrender. "I promise!"

I nodded. "Ok. What do you want to know?" I sat on the edge of the bed.

"Everything." He told me. He sat down beside me.

I sighed. "I should probably start off by telling you why I'm qualified for this. I'm a Fallen Angel. My best friend is still in touch with me. She told me I had a habit of finding lost things so I'm going to follow my instincts." I look at my hands thoughtfully.

"I took the fall for her. I don't remember what happened. It was maybe a week or two ago? So yeah..." He looked at me.

"You took the fall for Rachel? What did she do?" He exclaimed standing up. I looked at him confused.

"I didn't tell you Rachel was my best friend." His eyes widened.

"U-uh. Lucky guess?" He stuttered. I narrowed my eyes.

"Spill." I demanded. "I'll tell you I know she's your Guardian Angel. That's all she didn't tell me anything else. "

He sighed heavily and ran a hand through his hair and sat back down on the bed. "That's because she doesn't know anything else."

"I promise I won't tell her." I spoke softly. "It'll be between us." I scooted closer and placed a hand on his knee. "You can trust me."

"Rachel's my sister." My eyes widened.

"Oh. Ooh." He nodded his head. "That means you're a fallen Angel too, right?"

"Mhm."

"So I've been sitting here crushing on my best friends brother? Awesome. " I face palmed and laid back on the bed. A question popped into my head. I sat up and looked at him.

"Do you remember what you were cast out for?" I asked quietly. He nodded.

"Yeah. I do. There was a dude and he was getting pretty handsy with her. She tried to get away but he wouldn't give up. I went over and told the guy to lay off my sister and then it turned into a fight an I was just so mad at him and ended beating him within an inch of his life. They took me away and Rachel was begging for them to listen to her but Adam wouldn't hear it so they ripped my wings out and cast me out. I guess they wiped her memory. Not a day goes by where I don't miss her. If I had just stopped then I'd still be there with her." I saw tear glisten in his eyes.

"Hey. That's very noble, Calum. You saved her from something that could've been bad. And she's had me to take care of her. She's fine. She's happy." I told him and brought him in for a hug.

His arms wrapped around me immediately and he rested his head on my shoulder. I felt the tears fall onto my shirt.

"And, when I asked for a guardian I just wanted to see if they could tell me anything about her. I turned around and there she was. She didn't remember me and I just told her off this morning. I told her I didn't want her here.  I told her I didn't need her."

"She'll be back. You know that. She can't officially leave till the job is done. When she finds us you need to tell her everything. She'll listen- she's good at that- and she may even remember."

He nodded "I will." I pressed a kiss to his cheek.

"Let's get some rest and continue in the morning. I'm uh gonna change in the bathroom. You can change out here." I grabbed my cloths from my bag and walked to the bathroom. I was trying not to think about sharing a small bed with a cute boy.

"Are you decent?" I asked.

He cleared his throat. "Yeah."

I ran out of the bathroom and shoved my cloths in my bag. I crawled under the cover getting as close to edge as I could.

I heard Calum laugh. "I won't bite you know."

"Just turn out the light and get in bed."

I sighed. "Sorry i'm just nervous. I don't normally do this ya know?"

He laughed and switched off the light and got under uh covers.

"Goodnight, Petal." I laughed and hit him on the arm.

"Goodnight, Loser."

He laughed.

"Sweet dreams." He whispered.
