Luke POV
-----------------------------------------------------
"Thanks Maggie I'll tell them." Jade called almost running into me.
"Oh! Hi Luke." She greeted.
"I take it that it went well? You have this stupid grin on your face." Calum asked.
I nodded my head the smile on my face not faltering.
"Yeah. It went well."
"Good. Well. I guess it's my turn." Calum turned to Jade.
"Do you mind if I keep ahold of your hand for this? It's kind of comforting and I think I might need it for this." A blush rose to his cheeks.
I grew curious at this. Calum. Blushing? That doesn't happen everyday.
"N-not at all." Jade stuttered. "I'm happy to help." She blushed and took a hold of his hand.
I glanced over at them and turned toward the stairs.
"Sure you two aren't together." I mumbled under my breath.
Calum walked by and punched me in the arm. I yelped and glared at him grabbing the spot he struck.
"Why?" Was all I asked.
"I heard that. That's why."
"What a gay reason." I grumbled.
We walked into the room and Jade put her hands on her hips.
"Alright. Before we get down to business, Maggie wanted me to let you know that you two can stay in the rooms down the hall. If you want of course. She normally turns down singles so feel grateful." She then let out a heavy sigh and turned to Calum. "OK. I'm done. You're turn."
Calum walked over and stood in front of Rachel who was perched on the foot of the bed. He swallowed thickly and spoke.
"I need to apologize for being such a dick to you. It wasn't fair." Rachel nodded at him to continue. "Rachel. Will you forgive me?" He pleaded gently.
She looked up at him and nodded her head making her curls bounce gently. Calum smiled in relief.
"But why?" She asked. "Why did you do it?" Anger was slipped slightly into her words.
"I didn't know how to react. I didn't know you'd gotten promoted." He told her.
His eyes grew sad. "There's something you need to know. You're not going to believe it but I swear to God it's the truth." He stressed.
"What is it?" She asked.
"I'm your older brother." Rachel's eye widened in disbelief.
"W-what? Then how come you were never there?" She shot at him.
"Because I was cast out for almost killing a guy for trying to take advantage of you."
"Why don't I remember anything about you?" She was confused and hurt. You could see it in her eyes.
He knelt down in front of her and took her hands in his gently. "They most likely wiped your memory after."
"Why would they need to do that? I don't understand." She was trying to fit all the pieces together.
"They were probably afraid you'd follow in my footsteps or come after me." He brought a hand to her cheek. "I know this is a lot to take in and I'm sorry to push this on you and I'm sorry that I wasn't there to watch you grow up and to take care of you." Tears brimmed his eyes as he looked at her.
