Luke POV
--------------------------------------
I rubbed the back of my neck awkwardly. I didn't think this thing through. I had no idea how to approach the beauty in front of me.
"God, Rachel. You're much prettier up close." told her.
That was smooth af. Go me.
A blush rose to her cheeks and she looked down at her shoes.
"Uh t-thank you." She stuttered softly.
God her voice was soft. Like the inside of a rose. I don't fully know this girl and she's already got me wrapped around her little finger.
"I need to tell you something." I spoke gently.
"O-ok. What do you want to talk about?"
"Why did you send them after me? " I questioned her.
"Well. Um.. I don't really know. There's just something about you that intrigued me. I couldn't stop thinking about you so I sent Jade after you to find more about you."
I sighed at her answer.
"I think I can answer my own question."
She looked up at me.
"What do you mean?" She asked.
"Well. There's something that you need to know." I told her growing more nervous with each tick of the clock.
She sat down on the bed.
"Tell me."
I ran a hand through my hair and sat down next her.
"Well. Uh. I might've stolen something important from Heaven."
She gave a small gasp.
"You did what?"
I looked into her deep blue eyes.
"I stole something important from Heaven." I repeated.
"What did you take?" She asked.
"I um. I stole Adam's crown."She stared at me with wide disbelieving eyes.
"How? I don't understand."
I looked away guilt rising up in me.
"I followed you and snuck in..." I trailed off.
"Why didn't any alarms go off?" She asked.
"Well. They didn't notice. You didn't notice."
She gave a heavy sigh at my answer.
"What a lousy Guardian Angel I am." She looked at her hands.
My heart broke.
"No! No. Don't say that. You're not lousy."
She gave me a pointed look and stood up to faced me.
"What'd you do with it?" She demanded.
"I have it."
"I let a Fallen Angel into the crown vault!" She exclaimed. "Do you know how irresponsible that is? I could lose my wings for that!"
"Hey. Hey" I stood up and put my hands on her shoulders trying to calm her down. "It's not your fault. I tricked you. You couldn't see me."
"But I did see you!" She backed out of my touch.
I looked at her confused.
" I did. That's why I let Jade go after you." She was starting to calm down. "I saw your pretty blue eyes and I was hooked. Little did I know you were stealing from the Arches. "
She plopped down on the bed in defeat.
Guilt was tearing me apart for using her.
"I used you. I tricked you. It's what I do." She raised an eyebrow.
"I somehow find that hard to believe."
I rose a brow back. "Why? Because I look so 'innocent'? Well hate to break it to you sweetheart. That's why I'm so good at my job." (A/N dat sass doe.)
She laughed. "How comforting." A hint of a smile was gracing her lips.
I gave a laugh. She looked over to me. The sunlight coming in through the window caressed her face. God she was beautiful.
"Somehow I knew you wouldn't play me like that."
"I guess you're just to beautiful." I winked. I smiled at the blush on her cheeks.
"This is so going to be the end of me. The Arches are going to cast me out of Heaven too."
I hummed in response. "I don't think so. I think you're talented enough to stay out of their reach." I winked. She looked at me and raised her eyebrows.
"Do I look like a manipulator to you?" She asked.
"Mmm. If you wanna be then yeah."
She gave a laugh and pushed against my shoulder.
"Should we let Calum and Jade back in?" She asked.
"Yeah. I guess. I'll get them. Sit tight beautiful." I smiled and headed out the door to find them.
