Chapter Nineteen

After riding a few rides we came to a stop at a game. It was the one where you had the stacked bottles and had to knock them down with a  baseball. Rachel looked at me and went up to the carnie after handing 'Max' to me.

"How many hun?" She asked.

Rachel turned to me smirking playfully.

"Just me."

I laughed lightly. She quoted me from earlier when I won her the stuffed lion. Aw. Cute.

She handed the fellow female some coins for the game and was given a baseball. She weighed it carefully in her hand and tossed it in the air a few times then smiled. I watched her curiously as to what she was doing. I raised my brow wondering what was going through her head. She then took a few steps back, wound up for the pitch, and let the ball sail form her hand straight to the bottles knocking the stack over in one swift motion.

"Well shit." I cursed. "That was impressive."

"Nice shot!" The carnie commented. "What can I get you?"

Rachel turned to look at me for a moment before she turned and scanned the prizes searching for something.

"That one."

She was handed a stuffed penguin and nodded her thanks and tuned on her heal and faced me holding the plus toy out to me.

"For you." She told me smiling softly.

"How did you know I liked penguins?" I laughed.

She shrugged slightly.

"I kinda just guessed." She told me. I smiled in glee and took the penguin from her hands. I then leaned over and pressed my lips against her cheek.

"Thank you."

A small blush dusted across her cheeks as we continued to walk around the amusement park. By the time the stars were out and the park was coming to a close for the night I had her wrapped around my arm. I looked over at her. She was practically glowing  under the stars. It took my breath away. Her eyes were a more vibrant blue and she had a more lively color to her face.She had a careless smile dancing on her lips as we started walking to the other end of the park where my car was. My chest soared with pride knowing that I was the reason for that beautiful smile on her face. A smile that would forever be etched in my brain and haunt my every waking moment if I did anything other than care for the beautiful girl beside me.

"I um think that was the most fun I've had in a while." She confessed.

"Really?" I asked. She nodded in reply. "Well then. I'm glade that I'm the lucky one who got to change that."

  Our hands brushed gently as we walked and I took an intake of breath, courage mustering up inside me as I reached over and intertwined our hands. I glanced out the corner of my eye to see her bite her lip to try and hide her widening smile. I swung our hands gently as we made our way to the car.

The ride home was filled with the wind blowing through the windows bringing in the sweet smell of the summer and laughter from all of the lame jokes I told her just to see her smile again. Her laugh was beautiful. She was beautiful as she threw her head back laughing her eyes crinkling at the corners.

We pulled up to the house and I turned the car off and opened my door jogging over to her side. I opened her door and held my hand out for her to take. She laughed softly and took my hand allowing me to help her out of the car. I intertwined our fingers as we walked up to the steps to the front porch.  My heart was beating so fast it felt as if it were to burst at any given moment and jump out of my chest.

"Thank you again for a wonderful night." She spoke as she faced me.

"Of course. I had fun tonight." I smiled and raised my hand to tuck her hair behind her ear. She blushed as my hand grazed her cheek.

"God. You're so beautiful" I murmured, resting my hand against her cheek. She leaned in to my hand slightly, her blush darkening as she looked at the ground.

"Thank you." She whispered, her eyes flicking up to meet mine. Maintaining eye contact I leaned down slightly bringing my other hand up so I was cupping both her cheeks.

"Luke." She spoke softly. I could feel the heat of her cheeks against my hands and her breath fanning my face as she leaned in closer.

"Shhh..." I mumbled and closed the gap between us. My lips capturing hers in a gentle kiss. That one kiss lasted for what seemed eternity before I pulled back looking at her through hooded eyes. Her eyes opened for a moment before closing once more as she leaned up to kiss me again. I kissed her one, two, three times more before I removed my right hand from her cheek to the back of her head tangling my hand in her curls in attempt to pull her closer.

I kissed her again and again and again. My head was spinning. I was in complete bliss with kissing her. She was like a drug and I just couldn't get enough. Her hands moved from my waist to hook her fingers in my front belt loops of my jeans bringing our bodies flush against each other.

With great effort I pulled away from her lips, out of breath. I closed my eyes and leaned my head against hers attempting to catch my breath. After a moment she pulled her head back, her cheeks were as red as a cherry.  She licked her lips and smiled.

"That was-um- wow-"

I laughed and nodded my head.

"Best kiss I've ever had." I winked at her. She giggled and pecked my lips once more.

"Goodnight Luke." She sighed dreamily and turned to open the door.

"Wait!" I grabbed her hand. She turned to face me. I handed her Max and before she could say anything I pressed my lips to hers once more. I pulled back shortly and looked at her in awe. The moon shined on her hair making it seem as if she was wearing an actual halo.

"Goodnight Angel."

A/N: Yayyyyy! They kissed! I'm honestly so happy how this turned out. In the next chapter you will find out what got Rachel so distracted in the previous chapter when she named the lion.
