Pete's POV

Monday morning coffee. I stare outside through the sliding door, my parents' dogs laying down in the grass, panting. They seem to be having a relaxing time.

I was afraid that leaving the ward was going to cause my depressing thoughts to slip back into my mind. And I think I was right. It's hard to get out of bed in the morning when I look at the ceiling and realize where I am. This time is different though, it's more of an "I miss you," kind of depression.

I'm home alone right now, too. Makes it a little bit harder to deal.

*** a couple weeks later

Patrick's POV

What have I been telling you..

What?

I told you he didn't love you and geez, you just couldn't listen.

Man, not now please.

You thought that just cuz he fucked you means he really loves you. He's probably done that to many others and then broke their hearts right after. He sure looks like the kinda guy who would do that.

...

I mean that was the first time you ever had enjoyable sex, other than all those other times back at school huh?

I guess so.

It might ruin it for you if I tell you it didn't mean a thing.

How would you even know that?

How could you not know it, this whole relationship is fake, goddamn it. No one will or ever will love you.

For the last time, fuck you.

Ben's POV

Stupid fucking kid. He deserves every hit. I'm slamming his body into the wall repeatedly.

Then, of course, all the staff or whatever come in and try to pin me down.

"Get the fuck off me!"

I can see from the corner of my eye people from the ward watching through the open door, but I don't care. My only real goal is to kill this kid.

Within all the struggling, I fall back and hit my head on the desk behind me.

I black out.

Patrick's POV

I open my eyes and I see everything blurry. My head is throbbing, and people from the ward are right in front of me holding me down. Behind them, I can see Josh burying his face in Tyler's shoulder, and Tyler just looks scared.

"What's going on?"

One of the lady's looks at me and she loosened her grip on my arm. She says something to the lady behind her, but there's too much ringing in my ears to hear anything.

I look to my side and see blood on the floor.

I pass out.

***

I wake up in a white room under a white light that's so bright it hurts.

I'm alone and my head still hurts. I can't really remember much either.

About 5 minutes later, a doctor comes in.

"Hello, you're awake! That's wonderful." He said.

"Hi,"

"Hello, I'm Dr. Chris Gutierrez," He came over and sat on a swivel stool next to my hospital bed. The kind of swivel stool all doctors have. "Patrick, right?"

"Yeah," I wanted to talk a little more but my head was killing me.

"Okay, first let me explain what's going on, as you're probably confused." He logged onto the computer. "So basically what happened, is you hit your head on a table and made a small fracture in your skull, just a small one. But it did cause a lot of bleeding, so that's why you passed out."

I lifted my hand and felt the bandage around my head. It's was rougher than I thought it would be.

"And you were out for actually quite a while. You were out for almost six hours," he types more things into his computer. "Does your head hurt?"

I nod my head.

"One to ten, how much?"

"Um.. six,"

"Alright, well I can call in some painkillers for you. They're in the form of a shot if that's okay,"

I nod my head again.

"Okay it should be here in about five minutes. The nurse will be here soon," he gets up from the chair, "Until then some people wanted to pay you a visit, see you soon,"

I wave my hand a little to say bye.

A few seconds later, Brendon comes in, and to my surprise, Pete's with him.

"Hey Patrick," they say quietly.

"Hi,"

"How are you?" Pete said.

"Alright, though it's kinda hard to talk.. cuz my head really hurts,"

"Okay, I won't make you talk so much then," he whispered. I don't know why he was being so quiet. Maybe he was afraid that being loud would make my head hurt more.

"So when you were taken into hospital, I immediately phoned Pete and and told him, so he took a plane to come and see you," Brendon said.

"Yeah, thank god there was a flight scheduled to Chicago at just the right time,"

I smiled at him to let him know I was grateful he came.

"Also, your mom dropped by for a couple of hours, but you were unconscious. She had to go though, because of work but she'll be here soon. She wanted me to let you know that,"

Then, the nurse came in with the shot.

She got the alcohol pad ready and wiped a spot on my arm.

"Okay, your gonna feel a small pinch, but it'll be worth it when your headache goes away, alright?"

She injected the needle, and soon after my headache slowly went away. It made me start to get drowsy though, so I kinda fell asleep while Pete and Brendon were here. Sucks though, because by the time I woke up, they had already gone home.
