'Why would you do that?!' I barged into the living room and slammed the door behind me. Mom was sitting on the couch all by herself. She looked up surprised and stared at me for a few seconds with a puzzled expression on her face. In her eyes I could see she was startled.

'..do what?' she asked softly. She probably already had an idea of what I meant.

'Guilt-trip Troye into trying to convince me to go to New York? Do you understand how twisted that is?! That is so wrong!' I exclaimed loudly. I crossed my arms as I stood in front of her. Her face turned bright red as she avoided my gaze, the guilt was dripping off her. She sighed,

'I just want what's best for you Con' she tried. I snorted, she wouldn't get me with that.

'Well, what's best for me is what's best for Troye right now, he matters to me and you can't change that' I exclaimed, staring right at her. Then I turned around and walked towards the stairs. Mom wasn't even putting up a fight, or telling me not to be so rude to her. She was just staring at the ground and somehow that made me even angrier.

'Have fun in New York.' I stated passive agressively before I went upstairs, to my room, where I planted my face in my pillow. Why couldn't they understand that the boy of my dreams was more important to me than the city of my dreams?

'Hey!' I chanted as I saw Bethany at her locker, she was putting her books in her purse. She turned around and looked at me, her eyes lit up.

'Hey Con! How are you?' she said with more concern than usual. I smiled timidly,

'I'm holding up'

'Nice to hear' she said with a smile, her teeth were really white. I still needed to ask her which toothpaste she uses. 'How's Troye?' she asked. I was surprised to hear her talk about him, but of course she would since my mental health depended solely on that boy's physical health.

'It's all very very complicated, worse than algebra' I answered, not in the mood to explain every medical detail. Bethany nodded understandingly. She grabbed my hand and we walked to class. Everyone was used to seeing us walk like this, they knew we were like brother and sister, although some may have argued we were more than friends.

'He told me he felt the same' I whispered to her. She stood still.

'WHAT REALLY?!' She exclaimed surprised, looking at me with widened eyes. I nodded timidly.

'OMG CON THAT'S AMAZING' she yelled way too excited. I blushed, 'ssh' I shushed her as she was being ridiculously loud. She quickly shut up.

'And then what happened?' She whispered. My face was as red as a tomato.

'We kissed, duh' I said with a smirk. Bethany laughed, her perfectly curled hair danced around her head. I then spotted a Caspar Lee (a very rare Pokemon) down the hall.

'Hey there's our pineapple' I said to Bethany and I started walking towards him, but Bethany pulled me on my arm and stopped me. She looked at me with a questionable look.

'Maybe you shouldn't Con..' she said, looking me in my eyes.

'Why not..?' I said with a frown.

'Just uhm.. just trust me on this one, you don't want to go up to him right now'

'Beth...'

'After school at my place okay?' she tried, looking me begging in my eyes to stop me from asking questions. I wasn't sure what to think of this but I didn't have another choice.

'Okay' I mumbled, to Bethany'a relief. Caspar wasn't sitting with us at lunch either. I didn't understand any of it but kept holding on to the fact that Bethany would tell me eventually.
