The door of the principal's office opened an Kian came in, followed by his mom and principal Howell. They sat down next to us. Kian didn't look at me, he suddenly wasn't so tough anymore. His mom studied me, her eyes were full of dread.

The principal sat down at the other side of his desk. 'Thank you for coming in today. We're here to discuss the event that occured yesterday after school. Mr. Franta punched Mr. Lawley on his nose after PE.' he stated. I could feel mom sigh, she was obviously done with this bullshit.

Kian's mom shot me a dreadful glance, 'Well, the school guidelines are very clear, if one student uses physical violence towards another, they shall be expelled' She stated victoriously, she leaned back in her chair. Kian just gazed at the ground, maybe he was still dizzy from his fall on the pavement yesterday. Well he shouldn't have called me a filthy f-word then.

'Before we jump to conclusions, can someone explain to me why this happened?' mom asked, she already knew what happened, but principal Howell didn't. He looked at me, and then at Kian.

'Kian' Kian's mom asked. Kian shrugged 'I was just walking to my friends outside and the next thing I know is that I'm on the pavement with a bleeding nose and a headache' he stated. I raised my eyebrows indignantly.

'Okay, what the fuck? You call me awful names and push me out of the changing room because you feel threatened by my sexual orientation, leaving me in the girl's changing room which is not the gender I identify with. Then you and Jc come up to me and call me names, and then, to top everything off you make fun of a boy who was cancer? What did you expect me to do? Bake you a cake?'

'Okay enough,' Kian's mom interrupted me. 'The fact is that Connor here shouldn't have punched or pushed Kian and for that he should be expelled.' she stated. Mum and I looked at the principal who was staring rather undecidedly at Kian, like he would find his answer in that boy. Kian was fumbling with his fingers, his face bright red as the guilt was dripping off him.

Principal howell was rather shocked now he heard what actually happened. He was clueless.

'Yes, but as you can see Kian was not the only wronged one here.' mom argued, earning a dead stare from Mrs. Lawley. How could she not see her son had been an asshole and got what he deserved?

The principal sighed. 'I'm sorry, Mrs Franta but I can't just let this slip. However, there was indeed more going on, and considering the mental state Connor's been in lately due to special circumstances; I will lower the measurements to a suspension of 2 weeks.' he stated. I sighed, fuck. Fuckkkk. Mom nodded lightly. Kian's mom smiled victoriously and Kian was still just gazing at nothing, like he zoned out.

'He called me a faggot mom..' I said while we were walking towards mom's car.

'I know honey, and I'm very sorry that he can't accept people the way they are.' she said as she gave me a peck on my forehead. 'Never forget to be proud of who you are Con, never' she smiled at me, my eyes welled up. I had been such an emotional wreck lately.

It made me so angry that people like Kian still existed. That they existed in my life, that I had to deal with him and his homophobic slurs for probably another 6 months. I just knew there was no escaping, and I lost one of my dear friends in the process of this.

We drove home and sat down at the coffee table. Mom had made coffee earlier that morning, she always made the best coffee.

'By the way, someone special called today, asking if you could call him before he went into surgery' she said as she put my coffee in front of me. She immediately had caught my attention,

'Really?' I asked with hope in my eyes. She nodded, 'Yeah, you should do it soon'

'uhm how about right now?' I said as I hastily grabbed my phone and clicked on Troye in my contact list.
