Chapter 25 - Betrayal

SCORPIUS'S POV- 

"So, you think that Lucius only has the time turner to go back to get the kylen?" Asked Rose. "Kylela." I corrected. "Whatever. So that's what you think he wants." She said. "Yes. It's the only thing he needs to make the Pheronixon. All the other ingredients still exist." I explained. "The way I see it, we have two options. We either steal the time turner, or, if we can't, we go back in time with Lucius and destroy all of the Kylela before he can get to it." I said. "How do we know when he plans to use the timeturner?" She asked. "I don't exactly know." I said. 

We sat in silence contemplating different ideas. When Rose woke up this morning she was mad. She'd wanted me to wake her up when I got home. But I couldn't! She hadn't fallen asleep without me in weeks and it proved that she was healing. Once I explained that to her she softened a tad bit but still glared at me for a while. The silence was broken when Rose gave out a small squeal.

"What happened?" I asked thinking she was hurt. "I thought of what we should do!" She cried. "What?" I asked. "We should ask Lily to go work for Lucius again. She'd just feed us back information." She said. "Didn't we already try that? I spied on Lucius and it ended up getting us tortured. I don't want her to risk that." I said. "But don't you think she'd be willing to do it? She already ruined so much. It would be the least she could do." She said. I couldn't believe the words coming out of her mouth. "Are you kidding? She's seventeen, Rose. She shouldn't of been a part of any of this in the first place. Now that she's out of it we are not dragging her back in." I said firmly. "She's almost 18." She said a tad bit defensively. "That doesn't change anything." I snapped. "You can't treat her like a child, Scorpius. She's only a year younger than us and I can guarantee that Lucius has put her through more than what you and I have been through combined. We have no idea what she went through in those 3 months she was with Lucius but when she came back she was almost dead. She fought through it. That means she's strong. She's a fighter. And I know you don't forgive her. I don't either. But it doesn't mean we stop showing her love and compassion. In the end she helped us. She told us that Lucius broke into the Department of Mysteries. She kept our secrets. So don't you dare make me look like an idiot for wanting to ask Lily for help because "she's younger." Age doesn't matter in this battle and if it did then neither you or I would be here." She practically shouted.

I sat in silence and let her words sink in. "I get it. I get that you don't want her to go through anything else. And I appreciate that you care. But can we at least ask her? She's of age so she has the authority to give us an answer. If she says no then so be it. I'll drop the subject. But can we at least ask?" She asked softly. I sighed. "Fine. But if she says no then we don't talk about it anymore." I said firmly. "Ok, since she didn't go to back to Hogwarts this year she should be at home with her parents. Do you want to go now?" She asked. "Are you feeling up to it?" I asked gesturing to her still weak and bruised body. "I'll be fine." She reassured me."Ok then,let's go." I replied. She grabbed my hand and we apparated to the Potter residence. Climbing up to her window. Rose lightly knocked on it and we waited. Expecting for it to be pushed open by the fiery redhead Lily were were both shocked to see that it wasn't her. "Alice?" I asked. "What are you two doing here?" She snapped. "We came to talk to Lily. What's going on?" Asked Rose. "Just get inside before you're seen. There's aurors everywhere." She said as she ushered us in.

I'd never seen Alice like this before. She looked like she was going insane. She kept looking around as if something was going to pop out and hurt her. She looked like she hadn't slept in days. What had happened in the two weeks since we'd seen her? "I'll be right back." She said as she hurried out of the room. Speaking of the room, it was a mess. The bed was pushed against the wall and several mattresses lay scattered across the ground. A few different duffel bags lined the walls. Rose looked at me nervously and I grabbed her hand. Alice came back in with Al and Hugo. Rose's eyes lit up when she saw him and she bounded into her brother's arms. He hugged her back tightly looking like he'd grown yet another few inches. "Why are you here? What happened?" She asked. "We'll explain. Lock the door, Hugo." Al commanded.
