ROSE'S POV-

It had been almost three weeks since Lily had moved in making it almost two months since I broke up with Scorpius. It had been hard but a lot more manageable with Lily around. I know I promised myself that I would never forgive her, but I'm starting too. We've talked about the situation and I've learned that when Lucius asked her to join him he not only threatened her life but our family's too. It's still doesn't excuse her actions but it does make them a little bit more understandable. Alice is coming back in a few days and I don't know what she's going to think about Lily staying here. I haven't really told many people about our living situaton. I know that they'd all think I was, as Lily puts it, "a traitor." She's been going over to her parents house a few times a week. She says things are better and she thinks they're starting to forgive her. We both have nightmares. Mine have become a lot more frequent with Scorpius gone. He was always the one to calm me down after I'd had a particularly bad one. But not now. I'd wake up in the middle of the night drenched in sweat wanting nothing more then his arms around me. But that wasn't possible.

Tonight Lily was staying with Al. They'd been fighting a lot lately and I suggested her staying with him to "mend their relationship."  I'm currently laying on the couch. I usually sleep there when nobody else is home. It somehow makes me feel safer. With the sounds of thunder and rain lulling me to sleep I curled up and pulled a blanket over myself. Right as I was about to fall asleep I heard someone pounding on the front door. I quickly sat up and grabbed my wand. It was past three in the morning and I had no idea who could possible need me.

I slowly opened the door and help my breath silently praying there wasn't some mass murder on the other side of it. I let a breath of relief when I saw it was only Scorpius. My eyes widened when the reality sunk in. Scorpius was standing on my porch covered in rain. He looked even worse then the last time I saw him. "What are you doing here?" I demanded. "I don't exactly know." He said with a strange look in his eye. I quirked an eyebrow. "Well, I know what I'm doing here, I jut don't know if I'm doing the right thing." He replied. "Would you like to come in? As you've probably noticed, it's raining."  I said with a small smile. He nodded and I motioned him inside. We sat on the couch and an awkward silence fell. "Not to be rude or anything, but it's almost 3:30 in the morning. Can't what you have to say wait untll the morning?" I asked. "No, this has to be said now." He said. "Well then go ahead." I directed.

"Rose, you're my best friend and I love you more than anything in the world. No, scratch that. You are my world." He said as he started at me intently. I felt my heart catch in my chest. "I don't know about you, but these last two months have been the worst in my life. If I dare say, they might of even been worse the when we where tortured because at least then you were with me. I was being stubborn and I should have listened to you. We need help. Over the last two months I haven't found anything new in the case with Lucius and I'm fairly sure that's because you weren't with me. You're the most beautiful, intelligent woman I know and I can't live without you. So I'm sorry. I'm sorry I was stupid and didn't listen to you. Without your help I will die. And without help from others we'll both die. And I could never put you in harms way knowing I didn't try my best to protect you. I don't want to be apart from you for another day. And I know what I'm about to say is going to seems crazy. We're only 18, but I don't care. I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. So marry me." He said as he fumbled to pull out a tattered ring box.

My hand flew to my mouth and tears poured down my cheeks. I was shocked. He had really missed me just as much as I had missed him. Realizing I was still sitting with my hand to my mouth blubbering like an idiot I nodded my head furiously. I held out my hand and he slipped a simple ring onto my finger. It had a thin silver band with one emerald on top. I threw my arms around his neck and kissed him. His hands snaked around my waist and my hands entangled themselves in his messy, blonde locks. The kiss became deeper and more passionate. It was clear we had missed each other. We broke apart breathing heavily. "I love you so much." I whispered. He wrapped his arms around me and I sighed in relief. He was mine again. I was just about to ask him why he had come back when I heard a pop. We both turned around to see Lily had flooed in. She was fiddling with her purse and hadn't looked up. "Rose I'm home! Al seemed too fed up with me so I left." She called out.
