getting carried away. getting carried away.

jimin whimpers into the kiss, yoongi takes that as a sign to move away, but before he does so, "is he gone?" yoongi whispered against jimin's lips, and jimin just hums in response. yes, like, three minutes ago, jimin thinks.

yoongi finally moves away, leaving jimin feeling empty— somehow.

yoongi turned around, looking around. when he faces jimin once more, a smile stretches on his lips, "coast is clear. mission success?"

jimin nodded slowly, "sure."

yoongi cocked an eyebrow at him. "hey, nerd, i'd imagined you'd be really happy by now," he remarked, placing a hand against jimin's shoulder, the latter flinching. yoongi noticed this, sighed and retracted his hand, "i don't really know what to say, i don't know what you're feeling right now. but cheer up, i guess? i mean, hey, we got him jealous. enjoy the rest of the party. i'll be right back." he gestured towards the staircase, leading upstairs.

jimin slightly nodded, yoongi taking that as a cue to excuse himself. jimin sighed.

alone.

— — —

jimin found himself lurking around the kitchen, leaning against the counter and munching on some snacks to keep himself occupied.

it's not that the party was boring— he just had to admit, it wasn't exactly his 'thing.' he had only attended this particular party in order to get a reaction from his ex, and now that that's over, he should be heading back to the dorm by now— but that'd be rude, leaving yoongi behind.

plus, people may get suspicious.

or maybe he was overthinking on the last part.

he sighed, staring at the floor.

what are you doing.

feeling an arm slap around his shoulder, his head snaps up to look at the person, a small part of him wishing it was yoongi.

i just want to go back to my room.

it was jung hoseok, grinning at him like the core of the party he was— well, technically he is.

"jimiiiin!"

jimin nodded. "hyung."

"how's the party so far?"

jimin looked around. people were mostly talking in the kitchen, some making out next to the fridge, and some just hanging around for the free food. the music wasn't as loud in here than it was in the living room.

jimin looked back at hoseok with a small smile, "great. there's a lot of people here tonight."

hoseok hummed, "yeah. didn't really expect that! i'm glad, though."

jimin didn't know what to say to that, so he just smiled.

"say," hoseok started. "i heard you and..." he coughed?, "...broke up. is that true?"

feeling a part of his heart get torn off, jimin shrugged. "yeah. i, uh... he was apparently straight this whole time."

hoseok gave out a low whistle. "damn."

"mm."

"sorry for bringing it up, buddy. you two were so happy..." hoseok sighed and jimin raised an eyebrow when the corners of hoseok's lips tugged up into a smirk. unexpectedly, hoseok leaned into jimin's ear, making the latter flinch.

"but a little bird told me that you've been... locking lips with min yoongi lately."

jimin shivered at that, keeping eye contact with hoseok as the older pulled away with an innocent looking grin.

"how'd you know?" jimin stuttered. people are supposed to know. let them know. the news is supposed to spread. idiot. idiot.

hoseok laughed at that, "babe, i'm the heart of the fuckin party."

jimin mentally slapped himself. "well, we are... sorta together, yeah..."

hoseok slapped him on the back, "good for you!" then slightly leaned in, "but he isn't... a rebound, right?"

jimin stared up at him, shaking his head furiously, "no! no..." remember the love story. love story. he bit his lip. "maybe at first. but not anymore."

"oh? are you perhaps... in love with him?" hoseok wiggled his eyebrows and jimin chuckled nervously.

what am i supposed to say to that?

"perhaps." jimin squeaked out, but it came out sounding more like a question, rather than a statement.

hoseok blinked at him. after a few seconds, he grinned, "good for you!" he said, not in a sarcastic tone, but in a genuine, happy voice. "min yoongi's a great guy. i guess the little shit can be annoying sometimes..."

"...tell me about it." jimin sighed.

hoseok chuckled. "he'll take care of you. it looks like he doesn't care most of the time," hoseok sighed. "but really, he does."

"thanks for the... advice."

jimin looked around, staring at the cups filled with punch. sudden impulse? instinct? his own feelings? he doesn't know, but when he decides to pick up one of the red cups, he frowns at hoseok, "are these spiked or something?" he asked.

hoseok smiled mischeviously. "alcohol, that's what i know."

jimin smiled back, downing the whole cup in one go, wincing afterwards. "say, hyung?" he coughed. "why do you know so much about yoongi hyung? you guys aren't so close, the last time i checked—" he said, picking up another cup of 'punch' and turnedd back to hoseok,

but the latter was already patting him on the back. "sorry, buddy, gotta go. knock yourself out." he quickly said, scurrying away.

jimin stared after him, shrugging to himself. "aight." he said, drinking the whole cup of punch in his hand.

this is going to be a long night.
