J-"If you think your fake ID looks legit, you've officially lost it, mate," Harry Lewis, a student who joined us in the third year and has stuck with us ever since.
"Piss off, the hairline is the only different thing!" Olajide 'JJ' Olatunji, a loud, slack, deranged kid, who I met on my first day after he mocked me of my surname, and then apologised for it later on.
"Guys.. We shouldn't go out, you remember what happened last year. Harry almost got his brain beaten out of him and I don't want that again-" Vikram Singh 'Vik' Barn, a very sweet and caring boy. I got the pleasure of meeting him in the first week, after he had no lab partner so he asked rather awkwardly to join Jide and I.
"Shut up, Vik! Come on, you're secretly begging to go. You dare not to leave us alone for longer than a minute, or else you piss yourself!" Ethan 'Behz' Payne, an impeccably loud, flamboyant, aggressive male. He was introduced to me by Jide, who described him as 'a blob of anger and gay.' Not going to lie, it's still funny now.
"Leave him, man! He don't have to come with," Tobi Lerone, my absolute best friend. He's the nicest guy going, known him since my second year of primary school. He was an exchange student and we were placed next to each other in maths. I used to struggle, but he helped me.
"I ain't going.." Simon Minter, who'd only been with us for a year. He was nice, funny, incredibly smart, kinda sensitive and very tall. But that last part, we have that in common so it's cool.
"Why not?" I, Joshua Zerker, an ordinary, boring bloke.
"I want to get settled in, I have to unpack and I'll probably be tired from travelling here all day. Plus, my sleeping pattern is fucked and we have to be up by six thirty.." Simon huffed out in response.
I looked down at him, his sigh releasing white condensation; it was so cold here..
His blonde hair was all messy, the lower of his face covered by his jacket, his appealing blue orbs drifting to gaze at the path as we followed it to the boy's dorm.
"Well, I'm not going if you're not," I told him rather honestly. I liked going out, but the rest of them (besides Vik) just wanted to get drunk and pull; we weren't even legal to drink yet.. We almost got in deep shit the year before. But if Simon went with us, it'd allow me to slip away from the group for a bit, have a nice, meaningful conversation with him for a while..
I really liked them conversations; it'd been forever since we last had one, though.
"Don't be stupid," He snapped, to my surprise. He was usually very bubbly and lively on the first day back; seeing the boys again had that effect on all of us.. But not Simon, not this year.
"I-I mean it, man.." I spoke slowly, not wanting for him to suddenly click to using that tone with me again. It wasn't scary or anything; it just made me feel bad.
I looked down, before feeling his eyes on me. My head soon raised, his orbs were so wide and bright in this natural lighting. He frowned, brows furrowing.
I suddenly felt his palm graze my shoulder, causing me to jump a bit; but when I saw what he was doing, which was comforting me with his touch, I just allowed him to.
"Josh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to bite you-"
"Wooooaaah, Simon and Josh are gaying it up out here, boys!" Harry hollered and Ethan snickered, along with Jide.
I sighed, sending Minter a singular look of annoyance.
Something was up with him, and them pushing his buttons weren't helping at all.
