Waking up beside my love was just what I needed after going through the most horrid moment of my life almost.

Although Simon insisted on having the day off, I still managed to wake myself up stupidly early. I guess that's what happens, when you're the most mature of the bunch, arguably.

Although everything was sorted between Simon and me, I still felt a slight weight of that melancholy feeling upon my frame.

My eyes focused on my phone which was by my bed. It suddenly lit up, a text popping up on its screen.

I squinted, my eyes still adjusting to the intensity of the light of the screen. I picked it up in my hand and unlocked it, blinking a few times to make out the writing.

I scowled at the anonymous message. It made me shiver almost. It was way too coincidental for it to be sent at that moment. But, all my energy was drained from the previous two days.

I couldn't be bothered making a fuss.

I just exhaled and sent a brief 'who is this?' text and locked it before the other had the chance to read it.

I placed my phone back on the bedside table, before turning around to see Simon sleeping soundly still.

It caused me to smile, seeing that boy at so much peace and tranquility.

I raised my hand to gently brush it through his fairly thin strands of hair, an immediate grin appearing on my lips.

It wasn't easy to block the constant pressing concerns which surfaced when I looked at him, but I just about managed.

Then, my phone sounded again, vibrating against the table rather loudly.

Josh sighed and dismissed the text within a second, assuming that it was just one of the lads having some sort of fun with him. Though, he didn't expect any of them to text at this time, they'd be getting ready for college.

He locked his phone and turned back, almost jumping out of his skin as he saw that his lover was quite wide eyed and, well, awake.

"You woke me," Simon wailed, pouting rather sweetly after he spoke.

"My apologies," I said, my lips curving to a smirk as I ruffled his light, messy locks around.

Simon then sat up slowly, resting his back against the headboard of our bed. I did the same as him, throwing my arm around his small shoulders when we both found comfort.

"How you feeling?" Simon whispered, leaning on my shoulder so that his hot breath touched my bare chest.

I shrugged, "Better."

Though I wasn't quite sure how I felt exactly. Everything was such a mess and I just couldn't piece what was for the best and what wasn't. I just had to accept the daunting reality and that was that. I'd get used to it soon enough, right?
