Reckless Love - Bleachers (literally my favorite song rn I love it so much)

---

I let out a sigh of relief as the ten tests come back negative. "We're safe." I hug Carley, overwhelmed with a lot of emotions. Part of me is filled with relief that I have nothing to worry about, another part of me is slightly disappointed having liked the idea of having a child with him.

"You okay?" Carley looks at me funny as she pulls me from my daydream.

"Yeah, yeah! I'm all good!" I smile as Carley walks into the kitchen to pop open a bottle of wine.

-- Justin's POV --

"Daddy! LOOK! It's Eliza!" Ella-Grace comes rushing into the room as I finish tying my tie.

"What?" I jerk my head towards the door, half expecting her to waltz in. I shake my head as I get that thought out of my head and settle my focus on Ella-Grace.

"Look! She's in the newspaper!" Ella-Grace gives me the paper as I scoop her up. She lays her blonde head on my shoulder as I scan over the tabloids. They were just pictures of her walking to and from classes. The articles were just judgement filled articles that hurt to read. "Daddy?"

I glance to my side and see the angelic face of my little girl, "Yeah?"

"Why do you look so sad?" Ella-Grace jumps from my arms onto the ground and grabs her iPad.

"I don't know, I'm not sad." I try to smile at Ella-Grace. She doesn't look convinced.

"You have those lines that form in-between your eyebrows when you get sad." Ella-Grace points out nonchalantly. Glance at my reflection in the mirror just to see what she is talking about. She's right. I laugh as I notice the "11" mark in between my brows.

"Well, I guess I just miss Eliza a little bit. She was fun wasn't she?" I confess to my daughter. A part of me was disgusted at myself for saying that to my daughter. Ella-Grace has no clue that my heart is broken over Eliza. She has no clue what is going on between her mom and I.

"If you miss her, how come she can't just come back to work...or we could have her over!!" Ella-Grace smiles widely at the idea of a playdate with Eliza. That girl loves Eliza.

"Because Eliza wanted to go do other things other than working for me!" I explain, or lie, to Ella-Grace. I'm surely not going to tell her "oh, I fired her because I can't handle being in a room alone with her without falling a little bit more in love with her. "Can you go make sure that Xavier is ready for me? Then we can head to school!"

As her long blonde hair prances out of the room, I sit on the edge of the bed. It's amazing how just a couple minutes can bring back so many emotions. After all the couple's therapy, Eliza still finds her way back.

"Honey, you ready?" Sophie comes walking in and kisses me gently, bringing me back to reality.

"Yes!" I stand up and wrap my arm around her waist as we walk out of the room.

--

I walk up to the office with a new face standing at the door.

"Hi, I'm Elliot!" The lanky boy sticks his hand out for me to shake. I am almost taken aback by his assertiveness.

"Hi, Elliot, I'm Prime Minister Trudeau." I smile and try to hold back a laugh.

"Such a pleasure to meet you!" Elliot's smile spreads wider as I smile back at him.

"Elliot, I need you to run these to the director of communications please." Telford hands him a stack full of files. The boy, who looks like he can only lift about 2 kilograms, rushes off. Telford waits until he's made it around the corner, "I thought you could use some breathing room."
