Breathe Me In - Jared & The Mill
Break in the Ether - Jared & The Mill

"Hey babe!" I smile at my phone that's propped up against my desk lamp as I read over some textbooks.
"Hey 'Liza" His crisp accent fills me with dopamine.
"How's Mexico?" I ask as I close my textbook, because let's be honest, there is no studying to be done when Justin is around.
"Uh, I wish I could say it was stress free. I miss Barack." Justin smiles weakly and runs his fingers through his hair. I take a moment to observe his demeanour. His eyes are tired, dark circles prominent under his blue eyes. Instead of his positive posture, he's slumped and exhausted.
"I'm sorry, babe. Just one more day." I give him some encouragement. Even though we both know that this is just the beginning of Trump's reign and trouble is just starting.
"One more day until I get to see you and mini you." Justin smiles widely. "Speaking of mini you, how was your doctor's appointment?"
"Good! Officially done with the first trimester. Mini you is healthy!" I raise an eyebrow.
"Oh, what makes you think it's a boy?" Justin cocks a smirk at me as he begins taking off his tie. Maybe it's the pregnancy hormones or just the fact that I'm head over heels for this man, but watching him unbutton his shirt is doing things to me. "Eliza, you okay?" Justin's cocky smirk grows.
I jerk my eyes off his now naked torso, every oblique showing as he moves. "Uh, yeah sorry, what did you ask?" I feel myself blushing.
"I said, why do you think it's a boy?" He laughs as he pulls on a Star Wars shirt and gym shorts.
"I don't know I just have a feeling. Mama's intuition." I State as I rub my eyes.
"I wouldn't mind a little boy. They're great, but Ella Grace would have another girl to play with...." Justin rambles on.
For a moment I feel almost...irritated. It's unfair, I think, he's done this before. He's experienced this all. I have no clue what I'm doing. Why am I getting so worked up about this?
"Okay. I'm going to bed." I retort.
"Eliza did I say some-" I end the FaceTime before he finishes the sentence. I promptly get up from my desk and fall into bed, until I feel a little pressure above my belly button. He's kicking.
"Hey buddy," I laugh as the kicking intensifies. "What? Should I not have hung up on dad? I don't know why I got all irritated. I think it's cause you're growing inside me and you're making my body do weird ass things." I feel the kicking begin to subside. I reach for my phone and call Justin.
"Hey, what did I do to upset you?" Justin's voice sounding like a hurt puppy's whimper.
Instantly filled with guilt I reply, "I just, I forget that you've done all this. You know what to expect. I don't. I just— I feel like you have the upper hand on me."
Justin chuckles, "Babe, you're too competitive. Look I wing everything I do. I don't know how to word this without sounding like an ass-but you aren't Sophia. This baby isn't Xavier, Ella Grace, or Hadrian. Every baby is different and every couple is different."
I exhale as I play with my comforter. "...You're right. You missed him kick by the way. It was really cute, he told me to apologize to you."
"You're really set on this baby being a boy." Justin observes.
"I just feel like it is!" I laugh, "Should we come up with a name so I can't use pronouns yet."
"Yes! I've been thinking of them, I have one for you, but you have to hear me out." I can practically hear his smile.
"Oh gosh, what is it?" I bite my lip.
"The lil Ewok!" Justin excitedly says.
"Justin...what the fuck?" I laugh. "You want to call our adorable little baby after an adorable fuzzy creature? I love it, even though I still think it's a little boy."
"We'll see." Justin chuckles, "Okay, I'll let you get to bed now. Love you."
"Love you too." I smile and hang up the phone. I glance down at the little bump beginning to show, "Are you happy now?"

"Hey Telford! Where is he?" I ask as the team gets back from Mexico.
"His office. I must warn you though, Trump's got him in a mood." Telford scoffs.
I roll my eyes, "Trump's got everyone in a mood." I walk over to his door and swing it open. I see him packing up his things for the day. "Surprise!"
Justin looks up and his face lights up. He walks over and pulls me into a kiss. "I've missed you."
"And I, you." I nuzzle my head in this neck. "Want to see a picture of the Ewok?" I grab my phone.
"Of course!" Justin grabs my phone as I pull up the picture. The black and white screen showing the little life growing inside. "Definitely a girl."
"How the fuck would you know?!" I laugh.
"Father's intuition." Justin smirks, as his lips meet mine one more time.
I shake my head, "Whatever you say, Prime Minister."
Justin raises an eyebrow, "I like the sound of that."
I bite my lip, "Well get home and you can hear me say it some more."
