Lamia's P.O.V.

It was Friday morning and I was already ready for my sparing match with EJ. In all honesty, I'm sitting in a tree by the clearing, waiting for him to show up. I decided I'd fight him in neko form. I seen him slowly enter the clearing. I could tell he was being cautious. I laughed and jumped from the tree.

" Hey, EJ." I said, smiling.

" Hey, Lamia." His mask raised slightly. I got curious about what he actually looked like under that mask.

" Let's make a deal. If I beat you in this match, you take off your mask." I said. He thought about it for a minute.

" Okay, but If I win you have to help me with something." he said. I thought about it and nodded.

" No weapons." I said. He nodded. I took off my hoodie and laid it on the ground. I then put my Bowie knife on it and turned towards EJ. " Put your scalpel on my hoodie." I said and he did as told. I wrapped up both weapons in my hoodie and put it under a tree. I walked towards the center and got into a fighting stance. EJ did the same. My tail swished excitedly as I waited for him to make a move. He lunged at me and I side-stepped, punching his mask in the process. He stumbled a bit but quickly regained his posture. He tried to punch me but I grabbed his hand and quickly twisted it, hearing a satisfying crack in the process. He screamed in pain. I pushed him away from me.

" Damn girl." EJ said. I giggled and tripped him. I quickly sat on his chest.

" I'm pretty sure I won." I said as I smiled. He nodded. " A bit of advice: try not to attack so predictably."

" I'll remember that next time." he laughed. I stood up and held my hand out to him. He grabbed it with his non-broken hand and I helped him up.

" Sorry about your hand." I apologized.

" Don't worry about it." he said. I heard something pop. " I heal fast." he showed me that his hand wasn't broken anymore. I stared in awe. He chuckled.

" Okay, now take off your mask." I said. He tensed up. I put my hand on his shoulder. " Don't worry I won't judge, I promise." I smiled and sat down

" Okay." he said as he slowly reached up and took off his mask. His face wasn't like anything I imagined. His skin was grey and his teeth were sharp. He had no eyes and a black substance running down his face from his eye sockets. He also had brown hair. I smiled at him and hugged him. He seemed taken back by this.

" Why aren't you running from me? Why aren't you scared?" he asked me. I pulled away from my hug and gave him a look.

" Because I don't care what you look like. I seen what you were like in here." I said and poked his chest. " You're a good person and I trust you. You can relax around me and be yourself." I smiled at him and went to my hoodie. I unwrapped it and threw EJ his scalpel. He caught it easily and put it in his hoodie pocket. I put my hoodie back on and slipped my knife up my sleeve. I walked back to EJ as he was putting his mask back on. I put my hand on his shoulder.

" Listen EJ, you're a great friend and I love having you around. Which is why, if you want, you can come over to the place I live. School starts on Monday so I won't be home till 3 on weekdays. Danielle works every morning until 6 and no one else really comes over." I said.

" I'd love to visit." he said as his mask raised a bit. I hugged him and he hugged back.

" I know you probably don't wanna be seen so I'll leave the back door unlocked. I'll hear you come in." I said as I pulled away.

" Okay, thanks." he said. " See you soon."

" I hope so." I beamed. I gave him my address then shifted into my cat form and ran to Delight Café. I sat outside and waited for Danielle to get off work. When she did, I meowed and she picked me up and took me home. When we got home I curled into a ball on the couch and fell asleep.

I got up for school and groaned. I hate school. I put on my uniform and brushed my hair. My uniform was a collared shirt and cargo pants. Unfortunately, I can't bring my knife to school. I went downstairs and made myself a poptart. As I started eating it, I heard Adrian's car horn. I quickly shifted into human form. I grabbed my backpack and ran out the door. I got in the back seat.

" How's it going, numb skull?" I asked Ethan, who was in the passenger seat.

" Great, actually." he answered, sticking his tongue out at me.

" I have no idea what you see in him, Adrian." I said as I shook my head. She laughed.

" You'll understand when you find your special someone." she said.

" As if. I'm better off alone." I said.

" No one is better off alone." Adrian argued.

" I guess I'm no one then." I laughed. She growled at me. We made it to school and I ran out the car to escape Adrian's wrath. " I'll see you guys at lunch!" I shouted as I ran. I sat in the back of my first hour, biology. I looked at my watch. It wasn't a normal watch, if I slide the face of the watch to the side it turns into a GPS, which tracks the Bugger I put into that boy. I looked at it and my eyes widened.

" That green-haired butt wipe is here." I mumbled to myself. I shook my head and slid the watch face back into place. The first bell rang and students filled the class. I ignored them all as they sat in their seats. The warning bell rang and the teacher got up from his desk and stood by the door, waiting for the late bell to ring so he could lock the door. Someone dashed into the room. I held back a growl when I seen who it was.

" Cutting it close on the first day I see. Take a seat." the teacher said and the green-haired boy nodded. Please don't sit by me, please don't sit by me. I repeated in my head. To my dismay, he sat right next to me.

" Introduce yourselves to the person next to you because that'll be your partner for the semester. There will be no changing seats so don't ask." the teacher said and I turned to the boy.

" I'm Lamia." I said and smiled politely.

" I'm Cameron, nice to meet you." he smiled. I guess he doesn't remember me, that's good. We started to get to know each other and I invited him to eat with me and my friends at lunch. He accepted. It's like they always say: keep your friends close and your enemies closer. That's exactly what I'm going to do.
