Chapter 10

Lamia's P.O.V.

I was laying on my bed with the picture of Adrian, Ethan, Danielle, and I at the zoo. I miss them. Cameron was taking a shower so at the moment I was alone. I knew I can't sleep in human form so I guess he'll find out about me soon. I was dreading that to be honest. He could easily tell everyone else and I'd rather not have that. I ran my thumb over the picture and I started silently crying. I felt someone sit on my bed and wipe the tears away. I looked to see Cameron. He gave me a sad smile. I never realized he came in.

" I miss them." I said as I looked at the picture. Cameron laid next to me and looked at it.

" why don't you tell me about them." he said.

" Okay," I said and pointed to the girl with long, brown hair. " this is Danielle, she took care of me since I was five." I pointed to the girl with short, golden brown hair. " this is Adrian, she's been my best friend since fourth grade." I pointed to the boy with black and red hair. " this is Ethan, he's been my friend since fifth grade. We all stuck up for each other. They're my family. I don't know what I'd do without them." I smiled a bit. Cameron stayed silent. I looked at him. " all I wanna do is protect them." more tears slipped out of my eyes.

" Lamia, you're only one girl, you can't do everything at once." he said as he wiped the tears away.

" but I can try, can't I?" I asked and he nodded.

" that's all we can do is try. Sometimes you fail though." He told me.

" I know." I said with a frown. I sighed and leaned over Cameron to put my picture back on the nightstand.

" we should go to sleep." He said as I sat up.

" yeah but I need to do something first so you go to sleep and not in my bed." he laughed and got up from my bed then laid on the air mattress that was on the floor. I got up and walked down to the kitchen. I got a glass of water then went back to my room. Cameron was asleep on the air mattress. I shifted into my cat form and slipped under my dresser. I soon fell asleep.

I woke up before Cameron and crawled out from under the dresser. I shifted into human form and looked over at Cameron. He was still sleeping. I grabbed some different clothes and changed. Thankfully, Cameron stayed asleep. I went down to the kitchen and mixed up another soomba for Cameron. I made myself some toast and took it upstairs. I walked into my room. I held my toast in my mouth and put the cup of soomba on the nightstand. I got out a piece of paper and a pencil and wrote a note.

I went outside to beat the crap out of EJ. Here's a cup of soomba in case you're in pain. If you're hungry, you'll have to get it yourself cause I don't know what you'd want.

I took a bite out of my toast as I set the note under the cup. I silently walked out the room and knocked on EJ's door.

" Go away." I heard him say. I ate the last of my toast.

" but you said we were going to spar today." I said pouting a bit.

" it's a bit of early don't you think."

" No not really. I'll be waiting outside. Bring your scalpel." I said then walked away. I walked outside and sat on the ground in front of the mansion. It was a big grassy area but after that was the woods. I closed my eyes and listened. I heard the steps creak slightly and I smirked. I waited a second before rolling to the right. I stood up and pulled my knife out. I watched as EJ lunged at the now empty spot and growled. I laughed. " just like when we first met."

" shut up." he said as he stood up. He started circling me, scalpel in hand. I watched his every move. He threw his scalpel at me, it cut into my left shoulder and I screamed. I yanked it out and threw it back at him he attempted to dodge but it grazed his arm. I growled. He has gotten better. I could feel my blood coming out my shoulder. I lunged at him and pinned him down. I stabbed his right shoulder and he screamed. I pulled my knife out as he kicked me off. He held his shoulder with his opposite hand as he stood up.

" you've gotten better." I complimented as I let him heal up. Unfortunately, I don't heal as fast in human form.

" thanks." he said and lunged at me with another scalpel in hand. I dodged and brought the butt of my knife down on his back. He fell to the ground and groaned. He quickly grabbed my leg and tripped me. He pinned me down and I brought my knee up. He groaned and his grip loosened. I kicked him off of me and got up. I ran into the trees and jumped into one. He slowly walked around, looking for me. I tackled on him from the tree and hit him in the head with the butt of my knife. I sighed as I got up. I grabbed his hood and dragged him back to the mansion. I froze when I seen Slenderman standing on the porch of the mansion.

" instead of standing there, will you teleport him to the infirmary." I told Slenderman. He nodded and picked up EJ with his tentacles then teleported away. I sighed and walked up the stairs, stumbling a bit. " shiznicks." I mumbled as I realized I was losing blood. I quickly walked into the mansion. " Ben do me a favor and pixelate me to my room, quickly." I said as I leaned on a wall. He quickly paused his game and grabbed me, we pixelated away and ended up in my room. " thanks." I said, a bit weakly. He nodded and left. I took my shirt off and winced. I looked over to see the wound. It wasn't too deep. I pressed my shirt against the wound and grunted. I shifted into neko form so the wound will heal a bit faster. Someone walked in and I quickly looked to see Cameron. Oh no. His face turned red. " shut and lock the door. I need help." I said.

" okay," he shut and locked the door then walked over to me. " what do you need help with?" he asked. I removed my shirt from the wound. " fuck." he said as he seen it.

" listen butt wipe, in the top drawer of my nightstand is a first aid kit. Hopefully you know what you're doing." I said and he nodded. He got the first aid kit and opened it. I laid back on my bed and he poured some rubbing alcohol on the wound. I screamed and my tail lashed. He ripped part of his shirt off and gently wiped away the blood. He grabbed the surgical needle and thread and started sewing the wound. Once he finished, I grabbed my Bowie knife. I untwisted the butt of my knife and pulled out a vial. I handed it to Cameron. " put one drop of this on my wound." I said as I bit down on the handle of my Bowie knife. He did as I said. It started to tingle, then sting, and finally burn. I bit down harder until the sensation passed and it started to tingle again. I took my knife out of my mouth and let out a sigh of relief. I looked at my wound to see it quickly healing. Cameron started examining the vial.

" what is that stuff?" he asked as I took the vial from him and slid it back into my knife handle.

" medicine that heals me quicker." I said as I stood up and walked over to my dresser. I grabbed a shirt and slipped it on.

" what are you?" he asked and I tensed up. Uh-oh.
