Rumor Has It *Nalu*

Chapter Ten

°Normal pov°

'We'll be back late, Lucy. Virgo is getting dinner ready so why don't you go play in the garden?' 'Okay, momma'

Lucy awoke to the sound of Virgo's heart monitor. A nurse was checking her vitals and everything. She looked up and noticed Lucy awake. Shaking her head slightly to help wake herself up, the blonde asked the nurse how Virgo was doing.

"Well, she it seems as though she slipped into a coma overnight. Whether it will be short or long, we don't know. I'm sorry hun" and after finishing the IV, the nurse left Lucy to herself. She'll be able to go back to school in a couple days. She still has a slight fever and a bit of a cough but other than that, Lucy should be fine.

The blonde felt like crying. Virgo, the only thing she has left that's even remotely close to being family, is in the hospital. The same position that left her without parents. She wanted Natsu with her. He made her feel safe. Although Lucy would never admit it out loud, she's grown quite fond of the pinkette and is glad that he's slowly leaving the shell he put himself in. They were close too. If anyone could make the blonde smile again, it would be his doing. Everyone knew that.

People have noticed that Lucy and her group of friends have been hanging around the "dangerous" pinkette. Everyone at the school knows how nice Lucy is and how protective her friends are of her so they figured that the rumors about Natsu was just that. Rumors. Hibiki even dropped everything after noticing how nobody even payed attention to them anymore. He ended up switching to Blue Pegasus and made a few friends. After not seeing her for years, Hibiki managed to find Jenny and after getting close, they started a relationship and are happy together.

Natsu sat in class, staring out of the window. His thoughts were directed at the one who started it all. He didn't think he would get a friend, let alone someone he gained feelings for, after what Hibiki did and now he's got a whole group. Even people he didn't know walked up to him and apologized for bring so rude and believing the false information about him. He was taken aback at first but nodded in reply anyways. The school year was coming to an end soon so there's a lot of reviewing and studying involved instead of projects and whatnot.

Natsu's teacher handed him extra review sheets so he can give them to Lucy. The blonde understands what she's missing and asked Natsu to bring any of the assignments so that she'll be able to test when everyone else is testing. She didn't want to be left behind and he understood that.

After school, Natsu told Wendy to head on home while he dropped the sheets off to Lucy. When he was about to enter before he heard light sniffling. Slowly, he opened the door to be greeted with the sight of a crying blonde. As if an instinct, he rushed forward and embraced her. He whispered sweet words while she attempted to calm down and apologized for leaving tear stains on his shirt. He just brushed it off and the two sat in a comfortable silence with the only sound being Virgo's heart monitor.
