Haruki felt trying to negate the blades would actually do more harm than good, as seen by his previous attempt which caused his hands to bleed and did nothing to the blades, so he decided to tackle the root of the problem: Rinya. Or more specifically, her hand. If he could somehow cut the connection, the blade would be able to return to normal.

Dodging the blades coming at him, he reached Rinya's side.

"You're bleeding!" Rinya exclaimed, looking at the blood dripping from Haruki's hands.

Haruki nodded. "Hurts like hell, but I think we have a more pressing issue here."

"Well, the thing about my scythe...it  went out of control, but somehow it isn't attacking me. Maybe because it knows if it attacks me and kill me, its source of Darkness would break or something." Rinya said.

Haruki gave her a look. "Your scythe is this smart?"

Rinya shrugged. "I don't know, I'm just guessing.

True enough, the blade was going even more crazy as it tried to slash Haruki, but because he was standing next to Rinya, it went away at the last minute. Still, the flames grazed and nicked his skin, causing burns and cuts.

"I hope you don't mind my blood, Rinya." Haruki said.

"Now's not the time to care for that, right?" Rinya replied, exasperated.

"Here I go." Haruki grabbed Rinya's hands holding the scythe, and the Darkness emitted caused pain to shoot through his hands, the wounds amplifying the agony.

Haruki gritted his teeth, about to let out a string of curses, and focused on pouring his own Light. He had used up quite an amount fighting Green and the Nayshards, but he still decided to empty his resources into stopping the berserk scythe. At first nothing happened. Then, slowly, he could feel his Light powering over the Darkness. His blood, however, was starting flow even more freely. Feeling slightly light headed, Haruki stumbled, but Rinya pushed herself against him to support him.

"You okay?" Rinya asked, concerned.

Haruki gave a weak smile. "Not really, but let's get this over with before I really faint, huh?"

Rinya knew if she told Haruki to quit now, his effort would be all for naught, so she kept quiet.

Then she noticed a weird phenomenon. Despite Haruki's blood flowing from the cuts on his palms, the blood dripping onto the sand was not a considerable amount. Instead, she could see the blood spreading across the handle of the scythe, and towards the chains connecting the handle and the blades.

"What's going on?" Rinya asked aloud.

"What's what?" Haruki managed a weak whisper, his face pale and his eyes closed shut.

"Oh, uh, your blood is actually coating my scythe...nevermind, keep pouring your Light, I can feel the resistance by the scythe decreasing."

"I...I can feel it too..." Haruki said as he continued to supply Light.

Soon, the blades stopped flailing around and connected together, back to the handle, the whole weapon glowing softly, like an obedient child waiting for his next set of instructions. Then, Haruki's hands slipped away from Rinya's and he slumped to the ground, his conscious faded.

Haruki looked around. He was in an unfamiliar environment. There were many tall buildings around him, around four to five storeys high, all with slanted roofs and bricked walls. He was standing on tiled floor, and people were walking around, mostly couples. The empty space was filled by a fountain in the centre, spewing water high into the air. His eyes focused on a couple seated near the fountain, the girl's blonde hair pulled into a high ponytail, the boy's messy blue hair falling onto his shoulder.
