"That was some unexpected attack, but almost none hit me. You sure your brain's still functioning properly?" Leonard gave a fearless laugh.
Haruki activated his bow this time. "There's still more from where they come from!"
He fired the single arrow at Leonard, which split into a number as they showered onto Leonard.
"Try this!" Leonard threw up a wall of flames, and the arrows sizzled against the wall.
Haruki prepared another arrow, this time charging it up as one with a large piercing power. As Leonard dismissed his wall of flames, Haruki fired once more. At the last moment, Leonard seemed to know he would not get out unscathed if he took it head on, so he dodged it. The arrow crashed into the wall behind him, sending tiles crumbling down.
Soon Leonard was closing onto Haruki as he dodged the arrows fired at him, and he would only be halted by the homing arrows. A few more steps, and Leonard was within striking distance. He jumped at Haruki, pulling his arm back as he prepared a fire punch. This time, Haruki was confident he could take the punch head on. He dismissed his bow and prepared his counter-attack.
With the help of his Torch, of course. With the short amount of time available, Haruki thought up of rings which could help to amplify the output of his Light.
Haruki caught Leonard with a palm as he slammed his flaming fist into Haruki. They released their fire and Light respectively, and the collision caused the two of them to get thrown back.
Haruki looked down at his gloved hand. His gloves were smoking, and the fingers which were exposed were burning red. "Seems like my amplifier idea didn't go too well, huh. As expected, I can't come up with something like this with such a short amount of time and expect it to work.
If that was the case, he could only have his arsenal of weapons that he already could materialise to help him fight. Haruki went through the few he had as he kept his eyes on Leonard.
He was panting slightly, though his arms did not seem to receive any visible damage. Was the continuous bursts of flame too taxing on his body? Haruki himself could feel the adrenaline rush before fading, and the pain was starting to get back to him. He had only two options, defeat Leonard and get out of the Tree of Life before it was too late, or find a way out and settle the fight with Leonard back at the Dimensional Valley.
But there was the serious problem of Haruki not even knowing how to get out of this place.
"You'd better not be daydreaming!" Leonard activated the cuff on his right hand and charged at Haruki, grabbing onto the chain and swinging it in circles.
As he swung, Haruki realised the blade connected to the chain was getting larger, and now it was longer than a kitchen knife already. Leonard stopped swinging the chain and grabbed the handle of the sword, slashing at Haruki.
Haruki jumped back to keep his distance, but Leonard was not done yet.
"Don't think you can escape my grasp!" Leonard exclaimed, as he activated the other cuff and immediately grabbed the small blade before throwing it at Haruki, pulling his arm low and swinging it vertically up. The chain started to extend as the blade shot forward.
Haruki twisted his body out of the way as the small blade shot past him, as he felt it unnecessary to avoid a small weapon like this with drastic movements. But that was an error on his part. Leonard swung the chain connected to his cuff, causing the chains to fly towards Haruki. While he was again able to dodge the chains, the blade came very close to Haruki's arm, and that was when it changed into another cuff and lodged itself around Haruki's left wrist.
