Haruki tore through the streets as fireballs destroyed the streets around him. Some hit the buildings, and Haruki could only hope nobody was seriously injured because of him. He had contemplated to check, but he realised it would only hinder his way to victory. Not that his victory was confirmed, though.
Catching his breath, Haruki heaved himself up to the watchtower. He knew he would br more vulnerable here alone, without the buildings to protect him, but it was so he could get a clear view of the mirrors, and destroy them.
He glanced around. The mirrors Gless was using had floated and spread throughout the town. That was how he could aim at him. With a flick, Gless would be able to reflect the fireballs off the mirrors until they were aimed at Haruki. Quite a smart move, but Gless's aiming was nott hat great after all. Other than a few scratches on himself, excluding the collateral damage caused to the town, Haruki was quite unharmed.
He nocked an arrow on the bow and pulled. The bow did not exactly fit well in his hand, and so was the elasticity of the string, but this would have to do.
He aimed at one of the mirrors, and paused for a while.
"No winds...it should be alright."
Haruki released the arrow, and it flew towards its target, aiming true. But it bounced off the surface harmlessly.
"I guess I really need my Light to destroy them, huh..." While Haruki was muttering to himself, he saw another fireball shooting towards him.
He muttered a curse under his breath as he ducked to dodge the fireball. Now it was a race against time. He could not see Gless, so it would be Haruki destroying the mirrors first, or get gunned down by the fireballs Gless was shooting.
Haruki drew another arrow, and concentrated. His fist shone, and the light spread to the thin stick. He then nocked it, before firing it.
Luckily the mirrors were not really moving around quickly, so despite the fact that the mirror he was aiming for swerved to the right to avoid the blow, it was too slow and the shining arrow struck its target, causing an explosion.
"One down. Four more to go." Haruki said as he scanned his surroundings, looking for the small sparks caused by the reflective surface of the mirror.
The watchtower suddenly shook violently with an explosion, and Haruki was thrown off balance. After regaining composure, he looked down and saw smoke from one of the legs of the watchtower. He saw two more fireballs smashing into the infrastructure he was in, and once more the tower rocked. Haruki was thrown onto the floor, his arrows skittering out of his reach.
The watchtower then began to tilt, and Haruki hung onto it for his dear life.
"Did I mention I absolutely hate falling from great heights?" Haruki muttered as he tried to suppress the urge to throw up. The shaking was causing him to feel nausea and weak in the legs.
Just as the watchtower came crashing down, Haruki timed himself and mustered whatever strength left in his legs, kicking himself onto the rooftop of one of the buildings.
He rolled for a few moments, before stopping himself. As he opened his eyes, he saw another mirror in his field of vision, much closer than the previous one this time.
His hand reached for the quiver, only to realise two arrows were left. Haruki concluded the rest must have been lost with all that commotion just now.
A shot, and the mirror was destroyed before it even moved.
"Now I'm left with my last arrow..." Haruki said, standing up. The town was a mess, but luckily, nobody was out in the streets. No shouts or screams were heard either, so that meant Gless Moria did not attack the humans either.
