Chapter 22

Mason had been working at the ED for seven weeks now, comuting sometimes with Jacob when he stayed over, but other times from his own house.
Connie of course thought this was ludicrous, and was determined to have all of her family living together.
They had a third floor in their house, a converted attic that was only used for storage. Or so Jacob thought.
Every day when he and Mason had been going to work, the painters and decoraters had been coming in, or the delivery men arrived with furniture and carpet.

"Babe we're home!" Jacob shouted as he and Mason walked through the front door.
Connie walked over to them and handed Tali over to Jacob, "Mason close your eyes" she said as she moved to stand behind him, it was good job she had her heels on she wouldn't have been able to see over his shoulder.
"Why?" Mason asked in confusion.
Jacob then let out a groan, "just do it son, she's got her determined face on" he said.
Connie smirked sarcastically at Jacob before placing her hands over Mason's now closed eyes and ushering him towards the stairs.
"Step" she said as they went up, making sure that he didn't trip over.
"Mum what are we doing?" Mason asked.
"You'll see" Connie replied.

They made their way up to the third floor, then Connie opened the door and pulled her hands away from Mason's eyes.
He stepped inside and looked around, at one end of the room there was a king sized bed with dark blue bedding, a light on the white bedside table and blue curtains on the windows.
A wardrobe stood just across from the bed, with a chest of draws next to it.
At the opposite end of the room their was a couch, with a TV across from it.
"This is your room, there's a bathroom too" Connie said as she pointed to another door.
"Mum, this is... Wow, thank you" Mason said as he pulled her into a hug, looking over her shoulder at Jacob.
"Did you know about this?" he asked but Jacob shook his head, "not a clue, all her" he smiled.

Mason smiled and kissed Connie's cheek, "thank you" he said again.
"You don't need to thank me, just live with us, please" Connie said.
"Of course I will" he grinned.
Connie smiled then pulled away, "Jacob pass me your car keys babe" she said.
Jacob pulled his keys out from his pocket and handed them to her, "why?" he asked.
Connie didn't answer, instead she passed them over to Mason, "these are yours now" she said.
"What?!" Both Jacob and Mason said at the same time.
She laughed and turned to look at Jacob again, "your new Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4 should be here anytime, if that's ok with you muscles" she said.
Jacob's jaw dropped, he was speechless and only managed to stutter a few words.

"English dad, it usually helps" Mason laughed.
"Are... Are you serious?!" Jacob asked.
"Deadly serious babe" she giggled before pecking his lips.
"Woah, I am so going to be thanking you tonight" he smirked.
"Dad! That's gross!" Mason said as he took Tali from him.
He laughed before pressing his lips to Connie's, "I loved you so much baby" he said.
"I love you too" she replied then she cuddled into his side and opened he other arm for Mason and Tali.
Mason held Tali as he hugged his mum again, and Jacob rubbed his shoulder, "this is perfect" Connie whispered.
"It's how it should have been all along" Mason replied.
"Yeah, yeah it is" Jacob agreed.
They stood together for half a minute, just enjoying each other's company until Tali let out a loud sigh causing Connie to groan and lift her from Mason's arms, "back to reality then, I need to change her" she said.
"Don't worry, I'll do it" Mason said as he took Tali then headed back downstairs with her.
Jacob looked at Connie and stroked her cheek gently, "you're amazing" he said.
"You're pretty great yourself" she replied before kissing his lips again.
