I hope that whoever you are, whatever you thought of this book, you took something from it. I know I did. It might sound silly, but as I wrote, I grew a stronger connection with the characters than I ever thought I would. It broke my heart to write what happened to Kayla and I hope that somehow this emotion is revealed in the words you read. My intention was always a slow-moving story that focuses on Kayla's journey through loss and the way she interacts with the other characters. Perhaps this made it all the more personal both to write the entirety of the book and to decide the eventual outcome of Kayla's story. It is important to note that this is the very first novel I have ever written as well as published. I don't believe that the story is in any way perfect or flawless but if I changed anything more, I would probably end up rewriting it for a second time. I hope to continue writing for as long as I can hold a pen and I hope that you, as the reader, keep on reading books as long as you live.
