After two very eventful days; we all arrived in Baltimore and knowing that Alex and his gang live all here too is horrible but good to get divorce too. Alex and I met up in a café that I used to go to when I was younger with my grandma. “So we need to call up the court and see what we need to go to get out of this situation,” I said and I looked up the court’s phone number but Alex was doing something like writing on the napkins. “Alex!” I called out and he shot up and looked at me.
“Yeah?”
“Did you hear what I just said?”
“No, can you repeat it after two seconds after I write the last word…” he trailed off but ignored him already calling up the court. I spoke and finally set a date which the closest was tomorrow at 4 o’clock in the afternoon and I was happy with that but I didn’t bother speaking to Alex about it because I know he will make a different time.
“Okay 4 o’clock tomorrow we got to be there at the court,” I said and he looked up after putting the napkins into his jean pockets.
“Eh why not today?” he whined and I rolled my eyes.
“Because it was the closest we can get an appointment and don’t worry I asked one today but the lady on the phone said tomorrow,” I said.
“It’s a shame I have to stay with you for another day.” he moaned.
“Ditto.” I said and after our drinks we walked out as I quickly rushed to the door to let Alex pay but sadly I was too slow and I paid as I walked towards the door and walked out to see Alex winking and running into a car. I groaned and walked to my house but quickly made a quick stop at the hospital.
“31…32…33…34…35,” I said quietly to myself counting my steps every time I come into this place always being the same steps every time I’m here. I walked up to the door and looked through to see her lying in her bed watching something in front of her. I knocked and opened to the door to see her eyes averted to mine and smiled big.
“Katherine,” the joy in her voice rose as I smiled and walked towards her giving her a big hug and kiss on the cheek as I sat down in the familiar chair besides her taking her wrinkly but soft hand.
“Hello Grandma,” I said. Normally I would freak if someone called me Katherine but I couldn’t be mad at my grandma not after what she’s done for me after all these years together.
“How was Vegas and is that a ring on your finger?” she gasped as I moved my hand under my bum.
“It was…eventful you can say,” I chuckled and she smiled.
“You still haven’t explained to me why you have a ring on your finger?” she asked smirking and I giggled.
“The reason it was eventful was because well…I met a guy-“
“Oo a guy,” she winked and I giggled.
“His name is Alex and well we got really drunk and well…we got married. But we’re getting a divorce tomorrow because coincidentally he lives in Baltimore and also the lead singer in the band All Time Low and I hate his guts!” I finished.
“That is eventful and least you’re getting a divorce tomorrow and oh one of his songs was just on the TV before you came in here and he seems good-looking,” she winked and I faked barfed.
“Ewe grandma that’s disgusting,” I winced and she laughed.
“I’m just joking Katherine. Loosen up a bit,” she said and I smiled but looked away. Amelia and now my grandma telling me to ‘loosen up’ now and it’s driving me crazy inside but I’m not getting mad in front of my grandma.
“Well I best be going Grandma but I will see you tomorrow yeah?” I asked her and she nodded her head. I kissed her cheek and hugged her gently her being fragile and walked out counting the steps to the exit of the hospital and walked back home.
I walked back to the house that Amelia and I shared and I walked in to see Amelia only in her bra and Jack about to unbuckle his belt. “PG KEEP IT PG!” I shouted covering my eyes. “PLEASE TAKE IT UP TO YOUR ROOM AMELIA!” I yelled and heard scurrying and muffled voices and soon I heard their footsteps running upstairs as I walked into the kitchen to see no other than Alex looking out the window. I faked coughed and he looked at me and rolled his eyes.
“O it’s you,” he groaned.
“Excuse me but this is my house dumbass,” I said the last bit quietly but he heard me.
“Stop being such a bully Katie,” he said.
“Me a bully? Look at you Alex you’ve been bullying me too,” I said anger filling inside me. Least that shut him up.
“I can’t wait to get a fucking divorce.” he said grabbing a phone which possibly be his and started walking to my front door.
“So do I!” I shouted back and he slammed the door and I looked at the door.
I just want this divorce other and done with but boy was I wrong.
