Chapter Twenty Six

A few weeks later and Alex and I have been doing great together. Tomorrow it’s the divorce and honestly I don’t want to get divorce but it’s a good thing we can call it off when we’re there.

I was in the middle sorting out the clothes from the washing basket as I folded them up, ready to take them upstairs and while Alex was in the shower; his phone was ringing. Normally I don’t answer other people’s phones but for some reason I just has too. I waited until his phone stopped ringing but then it started ringing again. I was getting annoyed at Alex’s ringtone and decided to pick up ignoring looking at the caller ID. “Hello Alex can’t take the call right now so it’s Katie here,” I said into the phone.

“Where’s Alex?” a female voice rung through the speaker as ignored the weird feeling in my stomach.

“He’s in the shower, who is calling?” I asked.

“Lisa, his ex. Can you pass on the message that I ordered a table for us tonight and meeting up at coffees are lame please?” she asked and I stood frozen until I spoke.

“Sure I bet his girlfriend wouldn’t mind meeting up with his ex,” I said.

“She’s a scumbag anyway, he even said that she annoys him. Don’t tell her though please?” she pleased.

“Bitch I am his girlfriend. You can forget about the ordering a table!” I snapped and hung up the phone. I moved my hand over my mouth and my other hand on the couch trying to stand up. Do I really annoy him? Why didn’t he tell me about this and why keep it a secret meeting up with his ex.

“Honey are you okay?” I heard him voice as he cuddled my back but I tensed at his touch but he can’t find out that I know what’s going on.

“Yeah I’m fine. Someone called you,” I said and he moved away looking at his phone until making a weird face. “What’s wrong?” I asked already knowing what’s wrong.

“Nothing it’s just J-jack nothing personal,” bullshit.

“Oh okay well I’m going to get myself ready and we can do something today yeah?” I asked.

“Actually tonight I’m busy, but sure today’s fine.” He said and I was pissed off because he was going to meet her. I had to do what I had to do and I needed someone’s help.

Amelia.

“What do you mean Alex’s cheating on you? He loves you,” she said and I nodded my head pacing round the room. It was already night and Alex is out with Lisa and I told her about the plan.

“I don’t know but I just want to see what there actually doing to each other okay?” I asked. The plan was to find Alex and spy on him and Lisa at the restaurant there at.

“We need someone else though,” Amelia said.

“Who?” I asked confused, Cassadee was away on tour and we didn’t really know anyone else.

“Zack’s new girlfriend Riot!” Amelia beamed. Now Riot was a name that I remember until I realised it was the drummer of the supporting acts for All Time Low in Europe.

“Holy crap! That’s what she and Zack were doing,” I said to myself because we could never find them and now I know. “Call her now then!” I said.

Amelia called Riot and we were meeting her at the restaurant Alex and Lisa were at.  Amelia saw the text where they were at when Alex was singing something in the recording studio so it was easy to know where they are.

I saw Riot and hugged her tight still the same girl as before. We knelt down under some bushes as we Alex and Lisa talking and eating food. “They seem fine to me, maybe they are just friends,” Riot said.

“I don’t think so because she said I was a scumbag and she just wants to get Alex back I’m sure,” I said.

“C’mon lets go in,” Amelia said and we walked getting a table near theirs but in disguises. We placed the order book in front of our faces and peeked every so often to see what they were doing but they were just talking. “The food here’s expensive how can we afford some of this?” Amelia asked us but Riot and I looked at her stupidly.

“We’re not eating here Amelia, we’re on a mission.” Riot said. Soon they walked out as we followed closely behind.

It was strange doing all this for a boyfriend but I need to know things. I’ve been hurt by Alex numerous times and I still forgive him maybe it’s because I actually love him.

We followed them to a park as they sat in front of a fountain beside the park. They spoke a lot and laughing at some things until something crazy happened. Lisa leapt over and slammed her lips onto Alex’s. I was stunned and decided to run away from everyone.

It was the day of the divorce and I was really nervous for it. Last night Alex just went to bed and didn’t even say goodnight to me. I know what happened and the scene replays in my head all the time.

I got dressed and sorted myself out into something formal and nice for today and waited for Alex to get downstairs. I already packed my bags and Riot said I can stay at hers because after this I want to get away from him…for good.

Finally Alex came and kissed my cheek as we got into the car. “Are you ready for this?” he asked.

“Sure am.” I said and he started the engine and off we go to the court house.

We arrived at the court house and took our seats on separate tables beside each other’s until we stand up when the judge entered the room. As he sat down; we all sat down ready for what he has to say. “Okay so Alexander William Gaskarth and Katherine Rebecca Gaskarth for a divorce yes?” he asked.

“No your honour we decided to actually-“

“Yes your honour correct,” I said sitting down looking at Alex’s confused facial expression.

“Alright so can we have Emma up please,” he said and Emma stood up and sat beside the judge as he asked questions to her. “So you have been dealing with Alexander and Katherine’s relationship yes?”

“Yes your honour,”

“So tell me about it all please,” he said.

“Well Alex and Katie are actually pretty extraordinary and I’ve never worked with those people before. They’ve had their ups and downs but are still a great couple for each other. I like them both a lot your honour.”

“Thank you Emma. Now I will see if you guys want to still go on with divorce yes?”

“Wait can I make a quick statement your honour?” I asked him and he nodded his head. I stood up and looked at Alex.

“You know we have had a rollercoaster of a journey you and I and to be honest it was pretty awesome but I want to say now that our relationship is over and I can’t wait to get this ring off my finger and give it to you. You belong with Lisa, Alex you still love her and I’m not going to stop you with her alright?” I said and he looked confused and I tried pulling the ring off my finger until it finally came off. I looked at it and smiled but dropped it into his hands. “Goodbye Alex. Now you’re honour I’m ready for this divorce once and for all.” I said.

“Now Alexander and Katherine are now *BANG* divorced, next case please!” and I ran out the court house ignoring Alex’s shouts.
