Later on that day, you got a text from your friend (F/N) to go hang out together so you two could talk about your experience at Pax Prime (IK its called PAX WEST btw now guys) so you quickly got changed and headed on over to (F/N)'s house. You rang the doorbell and she immediately answered.

"Hey!" (F/N) said.
"Hi!" You responded.
"So I was thinking we could head on over to the park and hang out there?" (F/N) asked.
"Sure! Let's go!" You smiled.

You two both headed out of the house and headed over to the nearby park, which had a small lake, some benches and a playground. It's the park you and your friend have played at since you were younger kids.

"So... Tell me all about the convention!" (F/N) said with excitement, "Did you meet him?"
"Yes I did." You nodded.
(F/N) jumped up and down, "What did you do? What did you say! I wanna know!"
"Well..." You began.

You didn't know whether to fib a little bit of the story or say absolutely everything to (F/N). She was your best friend, and you've both been honest to one another since day one, and you didn't want to ruin the trend.

"Well, we actually ended up being next door neighbors at the hotel," you explained, "and when he saw me there, he immediately recognized my face."
"Holy crap that's awesome!" (F/N) exclaimed.
"And we actually hung out quite a lot together, especially at the convention." You said.
"Really?" (F/N) asked.
You nodded, "and you may not believe this next part, but he actually asked if we could possibly be more than friends."

(F/N)'s jaw dropped but then turned into a smile.

"Aww!" That's so cute!" (F/N) smiled.

The two of you decided to sit down at a nearby bench as you reached the park to continue your conversation.

"The thing is," You continue, "Robert wants me to meet up with him again before he moves across the country within the next month, and I haven't told my parents. I know my mom is supportive, but my Dad just doesn't understand."
"I say, tell them as soon as you can." (F/N) responded, "who knows? They might actually do something for you."
"But that would mean another trip," You explained, "and that would mean another thousand dollars spent on air travel and stuff."
"Well, we're not too far from the Canadian border," (F/N) explained, "maybe about an hour or two, so maybe you could drive there."
"But what if he lives way up north in Northern Canada?" You asked.
"I highly doubt that." (F/N) said.
"So you're saying I should tell my parents now?" You asked.
"Well, if he leaves in a month, obviously don't leave it until the last minute." (F/N) responded.

You thought about it for a minute. Maybe she is right, maybe you can actually go up and visit him. Maybe if you just told your mom, maybe she would do something, and maybe make up something to your Dad.

"Thanks, (F/N)." You smiled.
"You're welcome!" She responded.

Later on that night, you thought about what you were going to say to your mom. You were scared of her response. The worst she could do is say no. But she could also hate the relationship and may want you to call it off.

You finally left your bedroom and headed downstairs into the kitchen where your mom was at.

"Hey mom, can we talk?" You ask.
"Sure." She said.

She finished up what she was doing before looking at you.

"Well... At the convention, besides meeting this guy Robert, we actually became good friends, and... even more than that..."
"You started a relationship with somebody you've only known for three days?" Your mom asked, slightly raising her voice.
"No," you said shaking your head, "We've talked online before this, mom. He even recognized me when he saw me at the hotel!"
"Well what if he's not the person he says he is?" Mom asked.
"I'm pretty sure he is, mom." You assured her.
"I'm sorry, I just can't trust you being in this relationship." Mom argued.
"Then how about I prove it to you?" You asked. "We go up to Canada, go to his place and I show you!"
"What?" Mom asked.
"He wants me to visit him up in Canada," You explain, "So I figure this is the perfect time to show you."
"You don't even know where he lives." Your mom claimed.
"I don't, but he'll tell me when I tell him I'll be visiting him." You said.
"If it's more than a 4 hour drive, then we're not going." Your mom said.
"So you're saying if it's less than a 4 hour drive, you're willing to take me up to visit him?" I asked.
"On one condition," Your mom said, "if this boy Robert does not meet my expectations, you're never to talk to him again."
"I'm pretty sure he will mom." You assured her.
"Alright, fine, we'll see if we can go next week..." Your mom said.

You walked away from your mom and headed back upstairs. As soon as you closed the door behind you, you jumped up and down in total excitement as you were going to see Robert again.

You texted Robert

Y: Guess who can actually go to Canada :D
R: No way! This is so exciting! :D
Y: We might come by next week!
R: We?
Y: Yeah, my mom is taking me...
R: Well that's cool! Can't wait to meet her!

But then you grew nervous as you were thinking of your mom's "expectations" from Robert. What are her expectations? What if she somehow doesn't like him? What if Robert doesn't meet her expectations? You would never be allowed to speak to him again, and that could ruin everything.
