Forty-Two

You woke up at least a minute before your alarm on your phone could go off. You sighed, wanting that extra minute of sleep, but it didn't matter anyways.

You then slowly sat yourself up and stood up. You then slowly began walking out of the room, grabbing your suitcase and bag along the way. The entire time you made your way down the hall and down the stairs, you couldn't stop thinking about the fact that this was your last day here, for a while at least. Because if you applied and got accepted to the college right near here, you knew you would be back and this time possibly living with Robert.

As you made it downstairs, you noticed Robert, still in his pajamas waiting for you. He smirked a smile as he decided to take your bags and put them in the back of the car.

Before the four of you went into the car, Robert embraced you tightly, you hugged back. You then felt him kissing the top of your head softly,

"I'm doing this now instead of at the airport because I don't want anybody seeing me in my pajamas." Robert whispered.
You let out a small chuckle before your face turned serious again. "I'll miss you."
"Not as much as I'll miss you..." He responded.
You looked up at him, "can we not argue over who will miss each other the most and just say we'll miss each other equally?"
Robert laughed, "whatever..."

The two of you then climbed into the back of the car and made your way over to the airport. It was a long drive, but time still made it feel short.

The emotions you were feeling earlier grew even more upset and intense as you pulled up to the front of the terminal. This was it. You were actually going to leave him and not see his face again except on the other side of the screen when you Skype one another. You missed that somewhat and the feeling of being home, but not as much as seeing and being with Robert.

After you went and got your bags from the back of the car, you gave one last hug and kiss to Robert before making your way inside of the airport. As you turned around again, the car was already gone. All of the events that happened this past week were now officially in the past.

As you checked yourselves in and went past security, you felt your phone vibrate in your pocket. You took it out and looked at it. It was a tweet from Robert.

@RobertIDK: Saying goodbye absolutely sucks :"(

Your plane landed about 6 hours later back at the airport near your house. In a way, it felt good to be home, because you could see (F/N) and tell her about everything that happened. But after seeing Robert's tweet, you couldn't help but feel bad that you had to leave. Hopefully, things would work out and you'll be able to see him again, and this time for a longer amount of time.

Your Dad was there to pick the two of you up from the airport after you went and claimed your bags. He surprisingly didn't ask about anything that happened, but he knew that you both were tired and needed to sleep. And that's exactly what happened when you got home.
---
You woke up and looked at the time. 7pm. You moaned, realizing you missed both lunch and dinner and was starving. But when you went downstairs, you noticed a humongous pizza that your mom ordered for the both of you. You without any hesitation took 3 slices of it. Despite its large size, you are all three slices.

"So...." Dad began. "How was Canada?"
"Amazing!" You responded. "I absolutely love it."
"How was Robert?" Dad asked.
"He was great like always." You responded.
"What did the two of you do together?" Dad asked.
"We went for a walk in the city, went ice skating and went skiing." You explained.
"How did that go?" He asked.
You let out a laugh, "Better than I thought."

He let out a chuckle.

You then looked over at your mom, who was giving you a serious look. At first, you thought it was because you said something wrong, but then after a second glance you knew right away what she was telling you.

The university. She wanted you to talk to Dad about the university.

You became nervous. What was your dad going to say?

"A-and we also decided to take a tour of this university near his house." You continued. "And it's absolutely incredible. It has a program for my major and everything."

Dad looked at you with a serious and kind of upset look, but it was also understanding.

"I like that you got to take a look at a college." Dad explained, "But I really don't want you going away to a college..."
Your face grew serious, "What? Why?"
"Well, it's very expensive for one thing and the second thing is that none of us or none of your friends or family will be able to visit you often because of how expensive it is to fly." Dad explained.
"Dad, sometimes you need to make sacrifices." You stated. "And I really like this college."
"Are you just saying that because it's near where Robert lives?" Dad asked in a serious tone.
"No!" You snapped. "It has nothing to do with that!"
"You haven't even given a glance at the colleges near the house." Dad explained, raising his voice, "So what makes you think that university will be good for you? And what if you don't get accepted?"

You let out a breath and you immediately left the table. You didn't want to come home and have to argue with Dad over something this stupid.

But as you were laying in your bed, reliving the argument in your head like you do every time you two have an argument, you couldn't help but think your Dad was actually right about something.

What if you really only did want to go there for Robert? And what would happen if something went down between the two of you?

Should you even take the risk?
