Thirty-Four

You decided to rest for a bit after returning home from the open house event and after the conversation you had with Robert.

When you woke up, you could hear the strumming of a guitar down the hallway. You knew right away it was Robert. You stood up from your bed and went down the hall. As you got closer and closer to his room, the sound of him playing grew clearer and clearer and you knew what he was playing. He was playing the song he made just for you that he uploaded to his channel. Hearing him play that song made you feel special inside.

You then silently knocked on his door and he stopped playing the guitar to let you in. It made you feel bad that you were interrupting him.

"Sorry for interrupting." You immediately said.
"Don't feel bad, I was bored." Robert responded. "Come on in."

You smirked a smile and went into his office.

"So how'd you sleep?" Robert asked.
"Okay, I guess..." you responded. "Just a regular nap. How long were you playing the guitar?"
"Basically the entire time you were sleeping." Robert responded. "I get bored easily when you aren't around. Especially now since you're here."
"Then I won't nap anymore then." You joked.

Robert chuckled and you smiled.

You then looked down as he was holding the guitar. You then realized that you yourself have never played guitar before. You didn't want to ask Robert for lessons, because you knew you wouldn't be able to play the guitar right away. It would take forever.

But, you had nothing else to do, and you might as well start learning somehow.

"H-Hey Robert," you began. "Do you think you could kind of show me how you play the guitar?"
"I'm kinda not good at explaining these things." Robert responded. "But just for you I'll do it."

Robert immediately sat you down in front of him and placed his guitar in front of you. As you held the guitar, you became excited for some reason. Was it because you were actually touching a guitar for the first time? Or it because you were about to learn guitar lessons from Robert?

Robert then slowly but surely began teaching you firstly how to properly hold the guitar, which took you several minutes if not at least 5 minutes to finally get the hang of. Despite that, Robert was incredibly patient and actually laughing and joking along with you.

Even though it sounded out of order, he then taught you the parts of the guitar and how you would be using each part of the guitar. He then taught you how to tune a guitar and step by step, play a chord.

After maybe about an hour or two, you got a basic idea of how to play the guitar and you decided to try and play part of a song on the guitar.

You failed.

Robert and you started laughing as you didn't know what song you were even playing. But somehow, Robert knew.

"Okay, I know what song you were playing. I might be able to help you." He said.

He then placed one hand overtop yours on the guitar and the other hand overtop your other hand on the guitar and held onto them gently. You both then began strumming the guitar together and playing an actual song.

As soon as the song ended, you looked behind you directly at Robert and smiled before you two leaned in for another kiss.

"I wish you could be my guitar instructor." You said.
Robert chuckled, "I would be terrible at it."
"But I'd prefer you over anybody else any day." You claimed.
"Well, I would be glad to someday." Robert responded.
" If I do end up going to this university, maybe we can make that a reality." You said.
"Hey, don't make the decision of going to this university base off of our relationship." Robert demanded. "I want you to get a good education."
You rolled your eyes, "you know, you sounded like my Dad just then."
"Before or after he suddenly became nice?" Robert asked.
"Robert, if it wasn't for you coming into my life, his attitude changing would've never have happened." You said.
"Yeah, because of my stupid decision." Robert added.
"Well, no matter what would've happened, it still wouldn't have been the same." You said.
"So you want me to get into more accidents?" Robert joked.

You gave Robert a serious look. He then put his arm around you.

"(Y/N), I would do anything for you to make you happy and I would do anything to make your friends and family happy also." Robert explained. "You already know that. I love and care about you so much."
"I know." You responded.

You then leaned over and put your head on his shoulder and sat there in silence for a few moments, reminiscing and having flashbacks of the time from when you both first met to this exact moment. A lot has changed now and you know things will continue to change, but in the best way possible.

Your thoughts were suddenly interrupted by both your mom and Robert's mom calling you both from upstairs. Turns out, they were hungry and were going to go out and get something to eat. The thought of going out to get food made you both hungry as well, so you both decided to go and join them.
