Chapter 21

I wake up in my bed all tucked in with the sun gently shining in the window. I get up and go down stairs. Nixon has made breakfast. He looks at me. "Hello love" He says. "What time is it?" I ask. "9:00, why?" He asks. "Just wondering." I say. He sets a big plate of food in front of me. "So whats all this for?" I ask. "No reason,just wanted to do something nice for my new girlfriend that's all" "Ok thanks, so what you wanna do today?" I ask. "Well when you finish your breakfast I've got a little something planed for you at the piano, then we could take a ride an spend our time in the woods exploring the safe haven if you want." He says. "Ok sounds good." I finish eating and go upstairs. I put on a long sleeve lavender lace shirt, pair of blue jeans and my black knee high lace up boots. Then I go into my bathroom, brush my messy tangled hair and pull it into a simple french braid going down my back then I meet Nixon at the door. Nixon has on blue jeans, a crimson red long sleeve sweeter with a white button up shirt underneath and his beat up sneakers. We walk hand in hand to his house. "Watch this." He says. "Ok." I say. He whistles for his horse and it comes running up to the fence. "Ok Jackson, do your trick boy." Nixon says. The horse backs up, gets a running start,jumps the fence and walks over to a patch of daises, he gently plucks on with his mouth, bows, and holds his head out for me to take the flower. I take the flower from the horses mouth."ah, thanks Jackson." I say putting the horse, he then hops the fence to get back in. "what you couldn't have stayed out here?" says Nixon. I chuckle and go inside the barn with Rose to saddle her up, Nixon follows behind me, we both saddle up and meet on our horses at the edge of the woods. We ride to the safe haven and through the wall. We tie up our horses and sit on the ground. "You recon we should see Chaney?" I ask. "Why?" Asks Nixon. "I don't know, maybe we could ask him were Luna is." I say. Nixon ponders on my question then after a little while he says. "Yeah, sure let's do it." He says. I get up and get on Rose. Nixon Follows me and gets on Jackson. After we ride through the portal to the magic realm, we stop our horses. Look at this place, It looks terrible. I think to my self mostly everything is still destroyed or decayed and coated with ashes. "It looks horrible here." Nixon says. "I know, let's get to Chaney and get out of here." I say. "Yeah, ok." Says Nixon. He's looking a little pale. As we walk our horses at a steady pace to the castle Nixon gets worst. "Are you ok?" I ask. "Yeah....I'm fine." he says. He's holding the place were the monster stuck him. I stop my horse and Jackson stops on his own, I get off Rose and walk over to Nixon and help him off Jackson. "Jackson, go home" I say. The horse nods and obeys my command. "Nix you ride with me ok." I say. I help him on. He winces slightly as Rose steps over a log in the path. "sorry Nix, were almost there, you doing ok back there?" I ask him. "Yeah...I'm fine..." He says. We arrive, I help Nixon off Rose and put his arm around me, and I put my arm around his waist to help him walk. Chaney greets us at the door and takes Nixon into the hospital part of the castle, while Chaney examines Nixon I wait outside. After what seemed like forever was only five minutes Chaney comes out and tells me to com in. "Hey Kate." Nixon says. "Hey Nix." I say. "So whats wrong with him?" I ask Chaney. "Do you remember your battle here Kate?" He asks. "Yes, that's when Nixon was struck." I say. "Well there's nothing really wrong with him, he just needs these four herbs but there very hard to find." He says. "Were are they?" I ask. "One is at the Waterfall Of Majesty ,two at the Whispering Winds, three at the bottom of Mystique Mountain, and four at the Fire Falls." He says. "The four elements of this world." I say. "Yes, will you do it Kate?" Asks Chaney. "Yes, but you have to stay here with Nixon until I get back to keep him company and keep me in contact while i'm out, deal?" I ask. "Deal." He says. I walk over to the side of Nixon's bed and gently kiss his cheek. "Both of you better be here when I get back." I say, then I turn and go out the door and to the place were I tied up Rose. I untie her and get on. "He's ok Rose, but now we've gotta go get some things to make him a medicine ok?" I say to the horse. She nods up and down. "Ok lets go." I say and put her into a gallop to The Waterfall Of Majesty.
