Chapter 6

Nixon an I emerged into the magic realm. We open our eyes and let go of each others hand we turn towards each other. "Wow,your hair and eyes!" Nixon and I both say at the same time. Nixon's once sandy blonde hair turned brown and his once amber brown eyes now turned a deep green shade of emeralds. My hair once golden blonde, now pure white, and my once dark grey eyes, now deep purple. "Come on you to,and don't worry, its not permanent, your hair and eyes will change back as soon as you step out of the portal." Midnight says. We take one last look at each other, then look to Luna and Midnight. "How become you haven't changed?" I ask. "Because we were born here you are half and half, in other words your half this world and half the other." says Midnight. "Now come on lets see Chaney ." says Luna. "How far is it?" asks Nixon. "Not long about a ten minute walk." says Midnight. After what seemed to be a never ending walk we finally arrived, Chaney greeted us at the door, we both told him everything and he reply's with this- "Now, what I want you two to do is be near each other, you both are more special then you know, I also don't want you to listen to that voice, don't do whatever it tells you to, be together at all times, never leave each others side, except for grooming." The question eats away at my mind and I have to ask it because I certainly not allow it. "So you want us to sleep together?" I ask. "No,no, I want you two in the same room at least, I also want you to help each other when one has a dream...deal?" Nixon and I look at each other each of us completely terrified. Nixon's eyes wide, I nod to him he nods back. "Deal." We both say. "Good, from this day forth I suggest you two get to know each other better because right now I can tell you know very little about one another." "What about Luna and Midnight?" Nixon asks. "Don't worry, they wont leave not until you pass on or...well never mind,any way, then they would go to your children and so on and so forth." "What do you need us to do sir?" Asks Luna. "Stay with them both,at all times, no exceptions... deal?" "Deal, we wont let them out of our sight." Says Midnight. "Deal" says Luna. " They can go out and about as long as they have some form of communication to each other, they can be alone as long as they have each other near, that is all,now go." "Yes sir, thank you for your time" I say. "Midnight you have raised this one well" "Thank you sir"  "Midnight and Luna please stay, Nixon and Kate, please wait in the hall." "Yes sir" I say. "Come on Nixon." I say as he now follows me out the door, we wait in the hall. "So how's this gonna work?" He asks. "Well we could stay at my house, for the night, then you to your house during the day." "Ok, that's settled... Oh, remind me to show you something when we get back..." He pauses,smiles,looks at me and continues. " I think you'll like it" "Ok" I say curiously. Luna and Midnight walk out. Nixon and I were sitting down, Nixon gets up and extends his hand to help me up. I smile and take his hand. "So whats the plan?" Asks Luna. " You tell her, its your plan" Says Nixon. "Ok, so during the night Nixon and Luna will stay with us, during the day ,Midnight and I will stay over at your house." "Sounds good to me,now come on lets get outta here, i'm get'n hungry" Says Midnight. We walk back the same way and step through the portal and turn back to normal, Nixon and I walk over to the horse fence. "So, what was it you wanted to show me?" I ask. He smiles. " Wait here" He says and then calls over to Luna. "Luna! its time!" "Ok!" She reply's. He turns back towards me. "Close your eyes and wait here, i'll be right back ,don't move!" He's gone for almost five minutes. Then I hear his voice near me and something else. what is that? I wonder. I feel something go around my hands which are covering my eyes, I jump a little. "Easy, its ok, it just me, ready, here" He uncovers my eyes and I see it standing there.         " Oh my gosh! shes gorgeous!"I say. Its a beautiful palomino mare with deep brown eyes and white mark on her forehead, all saddled up and ready to go."Go ahead, shes yours" He says with a smile. I walk up to the side of the fence  near the mare.She smells me then nestles her head around my neck,I wrap my arms gently around hers to give her a hug. "Shes so sweet! I say.          " And shes mine?" "Shes all yours" Says Nixon as he walks up to me and the mare. "Nixon I cant take her" "Why not? I insist." I wrap my arms around Nixon. "Thank you" I say as I give him a hug. I feel his arms slowly,gently wrap around me. " Only the best for you" he says.  I let go of him. "you wanna go for a ride?" he asks. "ok" I say as I hop the fence and get on the horse. "So whats her name?" I ask Nixon. "Rose" He says. "hello Rose." I say. Nixon gets on Jackson and Luna and Midnight show up. "were are you two going?" Asks Midnight. "It's ok Midnight I know were there off to Nixon already told me his plan" says Luna. "alright" says Midnight. We ride into the woods and after ten minutes we arrive to what looks like a glassy, shimmering wall. Nixon goes through but I hesitate, he comes back through. "Come on" he says smiling as he takes Rose's halter. "close your eyes." he says. I do so as he leads me and Rose through the wall.
