Worlds Apart

Chapter 8

Nixon and I are just getting back from our ride. We've spent an entire week together and have become best friends, the dreams are even starting to go away, we both don't get so many anymore, instead of four a day, now its only two or less. Nixon's are worse than mine but we still haven't figured out why each ride we go to the same place to have some peace and quiet, we just put the horses up and are walking back to my house when I start to feel dizzy. I grab Nixon's arm. "Kate, whats wrong?" He asks. Every thing starts to fade and goes black.

Nixon's POV-

Kate grabs my arm suddenly and starts to fall backwards, "Kate, whats wrong?" I ask, next she starts to fall backwards. I catch her and hold her in my arms. What do I do? I think. I know Luna and Midnight are near they would know what to do. I think to myself. "Midnight!, Luna!, come quick!, theirs something wrong with Kate!" I can barley finish my sentence when they arrive. "Nixon! what happened?" Asks Midnight with worried tension in her voice. "I-i don't know we were walking and she grabbed my arm then collapsed but I caught her before she hit the ground." I reply. "Good, gently and carefully set her down." I set her down and step back. Midnight gets up and turn to me so dose Luna. "Shes fighting a dream you need to help her" says Luna. "How?" I ask. "Encourage her to fight don't move, until she wakes up. We'll be right behind you" What do I say?  I think of something quick, as I go to her, shes laying on her back I kneel down next to her. "Kate? its Nixon,... I don't know if you can here me,but if you can, please fight this, please wake up, we all need you here... I need you here... because...well... I love you Kate, and I've been crazy about you ever sense we bumped into each other on the first day of school, then even more after I found out you were like me... I couldn't believe it,so please Kate, please wake up so I can tell you this in person... please wake up..." I start to loose hope as I look down. Luna walks over to my left and puts her paw on my shoulder. Midnight is to my right. "Nixon...i'm sorry" Luna says. Midnight licks Kate's cheek,Luna nestles her head giving her a makeshift hug, they walk away and wait behind me. "Kate... please...don't do this...please...." I say.No answer. I gently kiss her forehead, then as I start to get up her eyes flutter open and she calls my name, I flop back down next to her. "I'm sorry Nix." she says. "you don't need to be you didn't do anything." I say. "Yeah I do, I broke half of our promise." She says. That doesn't matter what dose matter is that your still alive and here." I say, tears streaming down my cheeks as I help her stand. Then next thing I know her lips are on mine and her hands are around my neck. When she pulls away I ask. "What was that for?" "What you didn't like it?" She says. "Well yeah I enjoyed it very much just i'm a little starstruck." I say. "Not every thing has to have a meaning." She says with a smile as she turns and continues to walk to her house while I just stand there completely confused. Midnight and Luna are looking at me with smirks appearing on their faces. I look at them. "What?" I ask. They look at each other. "Uh huh." Says Midnight. I feel my cheeks flush red. "What?" I ask once more. "Uh huh, you were right Midnight, he dose have it bad" Says Luna. "What?" I ask. "You'd better catch up with your lover Nix, she might miss you." Says Luna. "Oh my gosh guys really!" I say embarrassed as I run to catch up with Kate. "you didn't hear any of that did you?" I ask. "Maybe not." She says. "oh jeez how much did you hear?" I ask. She starts laughing. "Nix i'm messing with you I didn't hear anything." She says. "Oh good" I say. We go inside her house and curl up on the couch to watch a movie. Kate is snuggled up to me. I look down at her and think to myself. She is mine and I am hers, this is how it will be always and forever.No matter what happens.We will never be separated again, always together forever and always.
