My name is Scarlet Lorraine. I'm 25 years old and I am a surgical resident at Mayville Medical. If you didn't realize, it's a hospital. It's my first day as a resident and I'm terrified. This is the start of my career. I could kill someone today.
All of the residents crowded the bulletin board in the hallway to see which surgeon we had to follow around for the day. I hope that I get a nice one.
I must look ridiculous. I'm 5'4" and I think I can save lives. I have on light blue scrubs, a bit oversized, and with the fact that I am petrified right now, I doubt I'd be able to keep steady hands in surgery. But I went through so much school already, so I can't stop now.
A tall, muscular man bumped into me, throwing me from my thoughts, literally. "My bad, everyone is pushing me around because they want to see the board." He chuckled. I looked up at him. He was smiling, a great big smile, with perfect white teeth. He had a jawline, sharp like a knife, and hazel eyes. His dark brown hair was in a messy do, and his arms were bigger than my head.
"Uh- it's totally fine." I answered shyly. "I'm Scarlet Lorraine. And you are?" I tried to sound more confident.
"Ethan Dolan." He stuck out his hand with a smirk on his face. I hesitantly shook it, with the feeling that I just screwed my future so badly.
I finally focused back to reality and realized I was right in front of the board. I desperately scanned for my name until I finally found it. I was under Dr. Shepard's service. Well that's terrifying... He's neuro. Brains are really confusing to me because if you make one mistake you ruin your patients life. Let's hope he doesn't trust me enough to scrub in.
"Hey, I have Shepard too!" Ethan's voice called out to me over the noise of people chattering away. Great.. Just what I need, a distraction from my work...Hi!! Short chapter I know, sorry. I will make the rest longer, I just wanted to do a short introduction. Do you want me to make a section of character descriptions??
